That angry dude can say what he wants.

He's just not funny and his comments are a reminder of that.

Don’t think you’ve been paying attention to the world lately have you? Men keeping women out of every industry is news to you? Women not being able to make enough amazing movies...oh yeah and it’s Trumps fault too:)

IMO Ghostbusters was a one-trick pony, a GREAT one-trick, but not a truly repeatable -formula- if that makes sense (see Animal House). People loved the movie because it was so absurd and over the top with some classic lines and performances. I loved it as a teen. But truth be told, even the first one wasn't that great a movie. It held together on the gags, catch-phrases, RICK MORANIS, William Atherton as the over the top Peck EPA straight man to Murray, hot Sigourney Weaver, etc. It had lots of stuff helping it along.

I really like some of the actors in the female version and was hoping it might be good, but given that the original was driven by some of the funniest people in movies doing some incredible work, and other "perfect storm" things, it was really a stretch that it would turn out good. The paranormal was hot back then when it had not been done to death, it was the perfect time for such a satire. Today, with 10 haunted house shows on TV at any given time, there's no "new ghost smell" any more.

Has nothing to do with Trump, politics or even feminism, it just didn't work. Sorry Leslie.

Liberals will never admit their own failure they won't ever admit they are the problem
so they pull the race card the sexist card they will very card they can to deflect from their failure

Looks like she will play a different character in the next one...

So crazy...Leslie Jones was in a bad movie, someone wants to take another crack at the material, and she blames Trump?

She ought to be more concerned about the character she played in Ghostbusters being a stereotyped angry black woman. It was such a parody that she might have had to wipe tears from her eyes while reading those lines. Hope the checks were good.

She didn't blame Trump. And she played her comedy bit in the movie like a lot of comedian "actors".

Okay, I found the Nerdrotic podcast:

Let's put it this way: The Dr. Who writers round table COMBINED don't have the talent, experience, or expertise of Harlan Ellison's index finger - and he's deceased.

There were indeed people who blamed Ghostbusters failure on sexism instead of the fact that it sucked, much as people have blamed Hilla's loss on sexism instead of admitting that she sucked. When you have True Believers with a Cause putting together The Movie Which Will Change The World and it fails, it's gotta be someone else's fault rather than their own. Heck, we had a thread on it's bombing awhile back with this gem ...

...where Lesh - who is on the leftward wing of the political spectrum - was making the overall point that it failed because of conservative sexism, rather than what everyone else knew, which was that the movie sucked. But it sucked because the people putting it together put their agenda first and a good story second - rather than the other way around.

Heck, we still have a thread bouncing around here about Conservatives hating on Occasional Cortex when she danced somewhere - when it turned out it was one anonymous Twitter person or blogger or whatever it was (and who knows if indeed this anonymous person really IS a conservative?) - and the left on this site went nuts over that; that one anonymous poster represented ALL RW-ers while the RW here mostly didn't care about it at all while the Legacy Media went nuts over that fabricated news item.

Do you mind if I bookmark this page and give you a shout-out the next time some liberal here compares all conservatives to one that goes nuts - y'know, just to see how you feel about it then?

It didn't count, but that Leslie Jones is responsible for that. But it sucked. I think it was writing and delivery more than it was the actresses.

Kate McKinnon was the only good part of that disaster. Tellingly, she was the one with the least amount of dialogue.

Maybe you didn't read the OP, “It’s like something trump would do.”

And I'm not even sure what you mean by, "she played her comedy bit in the movie like a lot of comedian "actors."" I'm not sure what point you are trying to make here, that she read her lines?

Maybe English is your second language, because that in no way is blaming Trump. That or you think that any comment mentioning Trump that doesn't praise him is an attack. TDS.

Go back and read the linked article please. It's clear you're not sure what this thread is about.

Her movie sucked, the new Ghostbusters I'm not looking forward to on the grounds one actor is dead and it could be a bad movie unless they make it well however it would still be better than the 2016 Ghostbusters most likely if they explain the death and work that into the movie. And the villain needs to be GOOD.

Eh. I enjoyed the last one better then I expected (which wasn't much to begin with so there is that)

Though, the funniest part was Chris Hemsworth as the Secretary so there is that.
