    Ghosts

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ghosty's and such, spirits, other dimensions psychics and pagans and so forth. I've always felt that spirituality has to be monolithic for it to be harmless. Once people start to try and quantify the unknown in arbitrary fashions and then validate their ideas amongst those who will listen or adhere... it tends to lead to problems. There is magic in the world, or the universe, more grand and awe inspiring than anything I can find conjured up in holy books, or anything I hear foretold by mystics, ghost hunters, or psychics. I have borrowed this phrase from Gaines: "The spiritual world needs no explanation beyond the fact it is rooted in a deep seated belief that a power greater than our own fallibility exists." I like that, and I think my position is predicated in that kind of idea. It would be arrogant to say we are the most powerful beings in the universe and it would also be hubristic to say that our understanding has no limits. Aside from that I am a sceptic. I don't see a major difference between the sighting of a ghost and the sighting of an angel. Why are ghosts always people? Why not other living things like animals and plants? Are humans the only beings with souls? I know a few people who swear that, not matter what their preconceptions were, they have had experiences with psychics or spiritualists that simply cannot be explained.

There is a whole paradigm of thought built around the spirit world and the unexplained... believe any of it?

I am fascinated with ghosts and spirits. I definitely think there is something to the ghost thingy.

I have had too many strange things happen to me to think there is nothing out there.

As to your post, I've had things happen that are not human but animal. That would be my dog Cecil. I KNOW he has visited us.

There are stories of animal spirits. That said...I believe in Demons and Angels. Not people ghosts. I think there is a lot of trickery out there in that world we know nothing about. I think people need to stay away from searching out ghosts and spirits---its dangerous imhp.

I have heard....and it seems feasable to me....about it possible that a "memory" or image of the past can remain in a place. Not real souls or sentient entities.....but the sounds and images of what took place at a certain time. I think I read one story about how people would hear the sound of pool being played in a room, to find out that 100 years ago it was a billard. It was hypothosized that the sounds are like a copy---image of the past.

In math terms, you cannot define the universe with math.
In English terms, not all that is known is written in books.
