You said the report in question is only looking at a small slice in time which is exactly what the alarmists are doing, they're not going back to the last ice age and blaming global warming as being an unnatural event.

Also, to go back to your football comparison, the alarmist are insisting the score is wrong but won't/can't tell us what the score should be. I'll ask you, what should the planet's climate be?

 

CO2 is a greenhouse gas. If you increase the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, then the global temperature will increase. But they are also positive related to each other in that when temperature increases, the amount of CO2 (or other greenhouse gases) that gets released can also increase.

Yes, there are plenty of models that are accurate so long as you take into account the margin of errors that should always be included in a model that attempts to predict the future.

There is no such thing as an optimal global temperature. There are temperature ranges for which the currently living animals and plants are adapted to survive. The last time that the CO2 concentration was as high as it is currently took place about 3 million years ago.

Also, the climatologists are using a much, much larger volume of data. Included in that data is proxy data which tells us the temperature during the last ice age and prior to that moment. Climatologists are also able to track the rate of change during those previous dramatic shifts and the potential causes. They compare that information to the current rate of change (which is much faster) and whether the variables that caused the previous climate shifts are causing the current shift (they are not).

There are two problems with that propaganda, 1. the deniers have been predicting a new ice age since the 1970s, and 2. the cooling cycle they say began 2014 has had three record warm years in a row since the "cooling" began!!!!

 

The signal is small.
The noise is significant.
The systems are chaotic.
The feedbacks are not fully understood.

When you understand the implications of those four statements you'll be more qualified to comment.
