Hey now, your tinfoil is showing. Who has the bigger incentive? The energy industry, which is the most profitable in the world and stand to lose billions through regulation and reduction of fossil fuel dependence, or a loose band of international scientists? You tell me who's more trustworthy.

I'll throw in with academic eggheads over corporate shills any day.

Who do you think is funding much of the alternative energy industry?

You mean government funded shills don't you?

Alternative energy that still relies on oil? What heroes!

So you do think that there is an international conspiracy afoot, then? Occam's razor my friend.

There is no conspiracy. Energy companies will invest in what is legislated for two reasons, it will be profitable (subsidies) and it will be required. Follow the money. The goal is 15% by 2025 or so. It will never be viable for mass production of energy but will help with energy independence. Also, another 30 years of oil is available on top of the current 30 year current production estimate based on other types of oil production and it is cost efficient which may bring down oil prices. At this time, alternative energy production replacing oil, gas, or coal is just a pipe dream.

Perhaps (since you don't believe the UN), you may give more credence to your own National Climate Committee, which has just assessed that you are in deep doo-doo, especially in the US - which, on reflection, is a highly-deserved outcome. http://www.globalchange.gov/ncadac. All of which was plain to see even without their help.

But I guess there will be the usual twisting and turning to deny the obvious.

I watch a quartet of Republican North Carolina office seekers being asked on TV whether they believed in climate change at all. Each one of them said no. No doubt feeling the breath of the oil and coal industry heavy upon their necks.

This just goes to show what a loose connection Republicans have with reality.:cheerleader:

Of course, there are many insane Americans who believe that to be true. And a lot of them have investments in industries where it is necessary for that to be true.

It is highly agreeable to someone like me who lives a healthy distance from America and American interference that the worst effects of climate change are being experienced in the country that did most to create it. And to the morons who still believe it is not actually happening. Of course the leaders of this exceptionally stupid club will not be the ones to die in the cataclysmic events that undoubtedly await you.

Not sure what the current technology has to do with future technologies. It is interesting that you are preoccupied with your fear and hate of fossil fuels. For what reason is beyond me. Other than pollution, which has no bearing on climate.

You mention the UN, name someone who you believe from the UN. See, you can't prove a problem with climate exists. Zero, nadda, none. Provide that evidence in the form of experimental verification of a 100% of models that have ended up wrong. Please, I'm interested.

I like your word obvious. It's so flippin obvious that you can't produce one iota of evidence. Zip again. Silly!!

Btw, the West Antarctic is melting in a catastrophic way. Recent studies show that the process is unstoppable and wll raise sea levels up to 4 feet this century. Which is really bad news for Manhattan, New Jersey and all of the US east coast.

Loose band of international scientists? I think you mean the UN, one of the most corrupt organizations in the world, and the one organization that stands to gain the most from "carbon credits" and other scams.

What about NASA and every single mainstream American scientific institution? Are they in on the big conspiracy too?

Government agencies will produce what government wants. Government funded science will not trip up the gravy train to the tune of 2.5+ billion dollars so far when previously they would be lucky to get 3 grants a year previously.

One of the reasons I despise many Americans is their fundamental ignorance. Even in the face of facts made glaringly obvious by even their own scientific institutions. It must be incredible to live in the bubbles they inhabit.

Here, for your edification and education, are the findings of one of your own institutions. Which, in your opinion, no doubt used the wrong type of litmus paper or had the telescope round the wrong way.

My prediction is that Republicans will be wiped out by wilful ignorance.

    A deserving fate.

No, because they are not all fooled by the man made warming scam.

But we all know that the scammers always point to the UN and their "97%" arguements as the baseline for their "proof".

If your grandkids survive to breed, they will do so in spite of idiot grand parents.

    Fortunately, that is unlikely.

Speaking of fundamental ignorance, using media reports as scientific fact is fundamentally ignorant. I understand that some people have a very self righteous attitude about their own ignorance but that is not my problem.

The media used two studies for their dire predictions. Problem is, neither study mentions sea level rise.

    http://www.ess.uci.edu/researchgrp/erignot/files/grl51433.pdf

    http://sciences.blogs.liberation.fr/files/glacier-thwaites.pdf

In other words, the press manufactured the sea level rise and some bought into it without ever checking facts.

Even the warnings of uncertainty are ignored and instead, propaganda exposed by the media reports.

The warmist advocates are so desperate to push their agenda that they ignore simple as math or facts.

Study: West Antarctic Melt a Slow Affair

So your despite for Americans, using your broad brush, is just a sign of either ignorance about Americans or a fundamental insecurity about your place in the world.

You speak eloquently of ignorance. Without seeming to know much about it.

I read it here everyday. Thanks for contributing without knowing the facts, the uncertainties, and making broad brush statements.

So you do think there is an overarching, multinational, multi-agency conspiracy. Just wanted to get you on the record.

    - - - Updated - - -

Well all mainstream scientific organizations do believe in climate change, and that man overwhelmingly has an effect.

Conspiracy? No, government is actually very bad at conspiracy. The fact is that money talks and changes behavior. Right now there is a human issue involved instead of a scientific issue and that is conformity. At this McCarthy stage of science, if a scientist speaks his mind about an issue, he/she is likely to be ostracized and not find any funding for research and can even threaten their livelyhood. In other words, the current mass hysteria is bad for science.

    Here is an example.

Shameless Climate McCarthyism on full display – scientist forced to resign

Duh, write something thats not so obvious. Of course climate change impacts people, it always has and always will.

But man made climate change is another matter entirely. The entire AGW/climate change/climate disruption scam is based on the false assumption that man can direct the climate and claims people unintentionally changed the climate one way and now will correct the problem by intentionally controlling the climate. Bull.

And its revealng that the scammers keep changing their terminology to hide their true intent. Calling it "climate change" when you really mean something else is typical of prog scams.

here is the heart of the problem...you're so uniformed that you dont even comprehend the basic terminology of the science yet you believe you're capable of comprehending the deeper science....that would the equivalent of someone not knowing difference between multiplication and division yet thinks they can understand and discuss algebra...

GW, AGW are not the same as CC...learn the difference between those terms, they're not a socialist scam invented to fool or confuse you...even though it's apparent you are very confused....

OK, then tell me what the terms mean.

And then tell me why the sccammers keep changing their terminology but not their scam.

Here is your chance to enlighten me.
