So as some people seem to want to continually bring up Godwin's Law in the abortion debate and make comparisons between pro-choicers and pro-lifers and the Nazis I figured I'd make a whole thread dedicated to such a discussion. Here you can compare aspects of each side to the Nazi party and elaborate on the how's and why's of similarities between them and get all this Godwin's Law out of your SYSTEMS! I think pro-lifers are much like the Nazis because the Nazis were controlling. They took away women's reproductive choices altogether and gave them absolutely no choice over whether they carried to term or not. If you disagree with this comparison and you think it's stupid well then perhaps you should stop for a minute and think about why it's stupid every time you bring up Nazi and Hitler comparisons! Also just for fun I thought I'd throw this little hypothetical out there. If you had the opportunity to go back in time and force Hitler's mother to have an abortion while she was pregnant with him, would you? Why or why not? I have no need to do so, because I understand that Hitler is a modern symbol of evil, and will therefore naturally be invoked justly by those who see abortion for what it is, and unjustly by those who do not.

The Nazis killed an entire group of people. That's exactly what abortion does. Nothing else to compare. Margaret Sanger was Hitler with a vagina.
did they .. in that case why do we still have Jews, and if abortion was doing what you say then the human race would be declining .. is it?. Lets not forget that the religious also killed of a whole load of people throughout their history (still doing it in fact), yet you pro-lifers choose to focus on one event (tragic that it was) without even realizing that your dogma also relates to the Nazi ideals .. The removing of rights from a proportion of the population and turning it into a state controlled item, thus rendering them less than the rest of the population .. very much like slavery as well.
Great point about how these "goddies" seem to forget the slaughter, rape, and pillaging done by christians throughout history(most in the name of "god")...they didn't have any respect for life....

People who compare abortion to the Holocaust have exhausted all means of logical opposition. They are willingly ignoring the huge differences, so they can focus on one single thing. Beyond that, associating something with Hitler is a universally accepted way to demonize it, so this is another reason that it's done. To me, it really just represents desperation and frustration. It's really no different than just responding by saying something like "Oh yeah, well, you're a poopyhead!".
