It doesn't matter if you promise me a swimming pool of potable water next month, if I'm dying of thirst, today.

Now THAT's funny! I may not immediately know how to use it, but I damn sure have a better chance of figuring it out than the "gov't"...

In our case, it'll likely go into our college fund, thus won't be used until Fall 2021, at earliest. Sort of defeating the purpose of COVID "stimulus" or "relief" funds...

They put them together for leverage to ensure they get passed.

The Omnibus bill should have been killed and reallocated to US Citizens who are in desperate need of help!

A tiny sip of water water won't save your life if your dying of thirst either, it only lengthens your suffering..

I don't think this is ever going to happen though. A Congress that won't sign fat bills into law would get crushed by news media or blackmailed by intel agencies. As for a unity party, I can't imagine that coming anytime soon either. Third party candidates always run but people don't want them enough to create new options.

Same here. Not needed. Just gonna sit on it or donate.

That's why the $2000 was laughable.
Give more UE bennies if you want to help out those in need. But to give 1/2 or more of America $2000 when they've had no lost income over the virus was silly. $600 is silly.
Put more to those falling behind on rent. Skipping bills to pay other bills.

This may be a lesson to the folks strapped.. Six hundred at xmas time, that wont cover most folks CC bill :) They will be no better off and I bet start crying for more soon as they realize the back payments on their rent and home mortgage are still clicking upwards..

Wudda cudda shudda, that's not how gov't operates.
Pork is what keeps the congress critters in office. Everyone hates congress, but everyone votes for the incumbent.
And trump, despite his cry baby whining about it, signed it, and knew exactly what was in it last week. $$$$$ wise, he is the biggest spender in history of USA.

Ah, I see. You were against them getting $300/week continuously because it's nothing?

    Hm.

I'd rather have $300/week ongoing, than $2,000, once. That's my math.

Most moderate Democrats have more in common with the actual Republican party than whatever passes for "Republicans" in 2020....

IMO, there is much party unity. If one looks behind the curtain.
Remember obamacare? Largely a republican document plan.
For 8 yrs, the republicans were going to repeal and replace. They sorta tried while obama in office. Knowing obama wasn't going to overturn it. But they pandered and made some believe they actually wanted to repeal and replace it.

Then, they get control of all 3 phases of gov't. And it still failed to repeal.
As for replace, after 12 yrs, they still have not offered a plan. They never intend on offering a plan. Obama played bad cop, republicans played good cop to their base, and in the end, the ACA still remains the law of the land, minus the mandate.

Those are the good cop/bad cop games the 2 party system plays on the American sheeple.

    Same sorta scenario with immigration.
Republicans scream about illegals, but neither party does much. In fact, trump companies hired illegals and when caught, they got fired, but not deported.
Both parties, behind the scenes, know immigrant labor is needed in our economy.
The policies are broken, but republican voters won't let any policies be changed to fix it. So the 2 parties play their games and make believe the republican congress types actually care. They really don't

I judge the Democrat party by what my parents and grands values were like, Kennedy Democrats.. And the Democrat party is NOTHING like those proud country first Dems were, not even close..

Yep, $1200/mo for at least 6 months if remained Unemployed. Vs $2000 1X. Even if most of us don't need the money.

Did Trump sign a 2k covid relief bill yet? Fact is that Trump could have vouched for the 2k and given the unemployed extra $300 in UE benefits. So far, he's accomplished neither.

Fraud is a whole separate issue. I'm against all fraud. Let's sort the excel spreadsheet in descending order by dollar amount, and tackle the biggest fraudsters, first. Deal?

The reason for that is ignorant people/Americans! They think voting and winning the white house is key and then continue to vote corrupt house members with self interests..

I personally thing if Trump was given a unabated chance he would have exposed BOTH parties for the mutts they were and have always been! Now with Brain Bleeder it will be another four years of business as usual while your reps and my reps enjoy what what you and I will never have :)

Oh ya and four long ass years of gridlock.. Someday we will die just as we are now and bitching about the same bullshit..

We don't need it, either. We're not turning it down if we get it, though. We'll do what we did with the one we just got. Donate it.

Until partisans get out of the way, yes, we are stuck here.

Do like I do - vote against ALL incumbents, regardless of party. If everyone did that one simple thing; we'd no longer have gridlock. We'd have a congress scrambling to figure out what the people want.

Really? Odd you would post that when it is part of the stimulus bill? I mean, well you know, suppose to stimulate something, only I don't think it's actually "Getting back to work" ;)

It's typical RW logic that is based on anecdotal evidence.

"I know people that abuse the system so it means everyone abuses the system."

"Everyone i know voted for Trump so there's no way Trump lost the election"

It,'s like they have in a bubble isolated from reality.
