I am considered a Caucasian, but I do not identify with a race. I don't believe in racial pride because I had nothing to do with it. (I was squeezed out this way!) If I did feel pride for the accomplishments of my race, I would also have to accept the shame for their atrocities, so I reject both. My identity is based on 100% of my own actions and have no connection with race or religion. I believe that who we are is based on the total sum of our actions and that any identity or pride based on factors we have no influence over is shallow. Does anyone else feel this way?
You're not the only one who feels this way. I will say that I believe in relentless and radical individualism. I'm a black man by the way.
