Hmm, i that race the human output is dwarfed then by the natural output from nature. Perhaps you should have a talk with her....

Like electric cars, only for the very rich who can afford them....

    Globally, no.

    Locally, maybe.

Energy pollutes, the trick is to design a system that does as little damage as possible. I am not a fan of hydrogen vehicles, but things like power generation might become feasible. A place like Arizona has a lot of empty land and sunshine, the trick is getting that power to where it could be useful.

About green hydrogen, somebody somewhere will get lucky, and come up with a method that is scalable. So it makes sense to keep trying.

    Even if you lease it!!!

So, ok, I'm curious, how do you supply the EV market without decimating the environment to do so?

LOL.. so you would saddle folks with this? It's like soviet era Ladas.... This is your solution? and when the federal subsidies expires this year, then what? They aren't that cheap anymore. How much coal does a Leaf use?

    Nukes, hydro, for now.

We need to do a lot of work to pull this off, but it's doable, assuming we can stop Big Oil from killing us.

    Saddle? Unbunch your panties...

I bought a used Prius. My solution (part of which you can see just above) is to R&D up a solution...

We will likely need the subsidies for a while.

Around here? None. Btw, Maine has been partly poisoned by coal...

I don't much care what tech wins. But this is VW, apply a grain or two of salt.

Hydrogen fires are nasty, but still, it's an engineering problem, so there could be a solution that works.

Hmm.. so do you understand that all of those wood fired plants are about the same as a coal plant? Likely not in the marketing, not is the number of Natural gas producers... But something like 30% of your state's needs are satisfied by Canadian producers, no? Yeah, you bought a prius. Welcome to the smug zone. There's a great South park on it....

It is actually hard to get real stats on Maine's electricity grid. Likely because so much of it comes from non renewables. Oh, and trees aren't any more renewable than coal is and produces about the same outputs when you burn it. Renewable... LMAO...

In the normal course of events, I will have one idea of how to deal with some problem, and you will have another.

Nothing says puppet louder than when you don't have an idea. And please don't say markets are magic and will fix everything. Because unless you think roads appear magically, that's not something markets do...

If nothing else, the need for R&D is huge, new nuke designs, the Smart Grid, R&D on alternatives, and so on.

    Oh, well...

Yes, I know, but do you?

"Honda’s CEO, Toshihiro Mibe, believes Toyota should stop pursuing hydrogen combustion, hinting that it should perhaps focus on pure-EVs. The Honda boss says his company researched it until around a decade ago as a means of automotive propulsion, but found that it was not feasible for use in cars.

    Mibe explained that

We have conducted research into every possibility that’s out there. As for hydrogen engines, we see some quite difficult technological challenges. So, about 10 years ago, we decided this would not become mainstream."

LOL... of course roads happen when markets exist. It is one of the fundamental drivers behind road creation and building. I know, you live in the city, and roads just always were, right?

    June 2022. https://www.autoweek.com/news/green...giving-up-on-hydrogen-but-evs-remain-distant/

LOL do you ever read more than just one source for your ridiculous conclusions and uttering?

"It’s important to note though that Honda’s aspirations for a future filled with fuel cell technology and electrics hasn’t been halted with the axing of the Clarity pair," DeGraff added. "The automaker is still boldly yearning for all new vehicle sales to be either FCV or BEVs by 2040, a feat that’ll be made perhaps a lot more achievable thanks to their partnership with GM for two EVs and the continued development of fuel cell stacks."

You said Honda had one, they gave up years ago.

Of course there is R&D for fuel cells, also old news.

But lets get back to my point, you've got nothing to contribute.

Excuse me, I was wrong, you have less than nothing.

I have also heard about batteries all my life. I can't jump up and down over a vehicle that has a 1000 pound battery to propel it. It might seem effcient on the outset but I live in the mountains.

I don't think it's going to replace gasoline powered cars I don't think electric cars will either
