Sure, but this study didn't address all the testing, just a specific test. We don't know how many of these tests were executed, and like I said, 9-1 is just too much to slip by everybody's nose. I don't believe all our testing has been this inaccurate.

Not a funny subject but yeah......hahahahahahaha. They will spin themselves into oblivion to make excuses for Trump's crime against humanity for which he should be standing trial.

Oh God, you just don't get it.
Covid would the need a 30% case death rate for that to be a accurate statement.

I though conservatives were claiming that so many people have become infected asymptomatically that we will get herd immunity soon? So what is it? Is it super-infectious or is it not infectious at all? What did those 200,000 die of? Broken hearts?

I think we need to learn more about this. It does seem like we may have more false positives than we thought.

    from the article:

According to a rundown of PCR tests compiled by the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics, many manufacturers of PCR tests set the cycle threshold cutoff for a positive sample at up to around 40 cycles, a level numerous public health officials believe is guaranteed to return what are effectively false positive results that have detected fragments of the virus.

"I'm shocked that people would think that 40 could represent a positive," Juliet Morrison, a virology professor at the University of California, Riverside, told the New York Times in August.

Health authorities elsewhere have indicated similar skepticism of high-threshold tests. A spokeswoman for Taiwan's Central Epidemic Command Center said in June that the agency only assigns positive cases to samples with Cts of 35 or less, with authorities there believing that any samples with Cts of more than 32 are likely (though not definitely) non-infectious.

We don't know how many test are defaulting to 40 cycles to tell doctors the patient is "infected," and how many set the standard to 32.

Yes, that's my point. I read the article, painful as it was. It only addresses PCR tests. I'm fairly certain there are other types of tests being used.

Why, because it came from China, and they refused to be open. honest and forthright with the world's medical science community? Trump declared COVID a national Public Health Emergency during his impeachment. While the Democrats were playing politics, Trump was doing his job to protect the health of the nation.

I didn't know the science of herd immunity was a political thing. So the Dems don't believe in science?

That aside, I never thought the herd immunity idea was a wise choice. You are actually calling for many thousand to die to protect the lucky ones who escaped the initial exposure. Herd immunity does not kill the virus, it will still be out there. It's like telling people not to vaccinate their children, because herd immunity will protect them.

Center for Disease control says 198,754 Covid 19 deaths as of this morning. Your article needs to be sourced so we can compare the statistics.

what? You don’t have quality control on your laboratories in the USA? We have hit occasional “false positives here as well - we had ONE case at a rural town - mass testing was run until verification it was a false positive - and we were able to do that because the current rate of Covid 19 in my state is 0. Victoria, which recently had an outbreak is down to 14 cases a day now and is looking to ease the lockdown again,

Mind you we have been using multiple different types of tests too including a saliva tease for those unable to tolerate the usual NP. We know that one is not as accurate but we factor that in

Well, that is what Trump is calling for - although he called it “herd mentality”

I work in a hospital, and I know for an absolute fact that COVID cases, and COVID deaths, have all been greatly overreported.

Suspected COVID cases, and false positives, were all reported as positives, and those false reports were not corrected after the non-COVID truth was revealed by further testing. Deaths that were in no way caused by COVID were absolutely being reported as COVID deaths.

The reason for all this is simple. The hospital has taken a major financial hit as a result of COVID, and they're hoping for some sweet, sweet government compensation for the COVID cases they treated.

I'm sure it's pretty much the same with every hospital.

We're learning things every day, but we still know precious little about this virus. There are two cases of reinfection that I'm aware of, which are being studied. I'm wondering if vaccines will be effective against mutations.

How do you explain the fact that only a little over 5% of the tests are now positive. :roflol:
