God does not need an explanation or cause because He is eternal, absolute and unchanging.

So, for example, the best role model of all time (Mohammad, Muslims say) having sex with a 9-year-old child is UNCHANGING as still the best way to treat children that one has the hots for, apparently, seeing how god is unchanging. And slavery is STILL the way to go, since god approved of it many many times in the Bible/Qur'an, since he's unchanging, apparently.

This is a false statement. There are progressive Christians just as there are conservative atheists. There is no comparison between government and religion unless it is one's intention to merge the two.
