Obama wants to take credit for the bipartisan economy three years after he left office. What's new.

To people with critical thinking skills it’s absolutely what he said.

Let that sound sink in, because you own it. TRRRUMP CHECK. You know that from now on, nobody will ever take you seriously again when you complain about socialism.

Socialism? See, it's when you say dumb stuff like that that some folks wonder if you can think at all.

Just Compensation for a Taking is a LONG LONG LONG LONG western tradition that has nothing to do with socialism.

No he didn’t. You can’t even get his exact quote correct. Hahahaha

This is getting really tiresome, but if you want to quote me, at least quote the entire sentence:

"A letter alerting me that I got the stimulus deposit with Trump's signature on it". I think it would be apparent to most people that the signature referred to the letter, not the deposit. Furthermore, I made it clear in several followup posts that the signature was on the letter, and obviously not the deposit. Why do you have to make an elephant out of a molehill, twisting other people's words? Do you get some sort of enjoyment out of it?

If you want to analyze language, start with the world salad that your president produces every day.

I gave up trying to interpret what people have tried to say a long time ago. It is simpler to talk about what they did say. In any normal sentence structure, you talked about a letter and that letter talked about a subject and the subject of that letter was "a stimulus deposit with Trump's signature on it."

I hear him misquoted several times a day. Do we want to talk about what the left says he is saying or what he actually says?

Except you conveniently didn’t quote his entire comment. You left out “A letter alerting me that”. By leaving out the first part of his statement you made it look like he said something completely different than what he actually said. Shame on you for trying to be so misleading. Hopefully you’ve learned you shouldn’t misquote people as it’s just wrong.

I called him on the same thing. Such a classless move trying to misquote you. Especially when it’s so easy to call him on it with your exact post right there for all to see.

I get the idea of letting people know the government is giving them a stimulus. I can even get a letter. The thing that bothers me this fails to make it about anything more than Trump. Lots of people worked on this, and it just fails to come off as anything other than praising himself.

The object which that letter was describing was a "stimulus deposit with Trump's signature on it"

If you are going to claim he was not talking about a "stimulus deposit with Trump's signature on it", then just admit it was a badly constructed sentence subject to misinterpretation.

You’re right! This is what the most important issue is!

By the way on a related question how many angels fit on the head of a pin?

I noticed you couldn’t admit that you tried to misrepresent what he actually said. That was quite a shameful thing.

You can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make it drink. Some people are just willfully obtuse to make a silly point. They think if you are politically on the other side of the aisle, you can't be right about anything. It's better to stop engaging them. Thanks for coming to my defense anyway :).

It was shameful, because I clarified in a later post what I meant. However, you don't care what was meant, you just keep coming back to the original sentence, which I agreed was ambiguous, but why does it matter? You know what I meant, so this whole argument is silly.

But, I keep hearing denials that that was what you said and I get accused of misrepresenting what you said. It was clearly what you said. Once I you explained what you meant, I never once said that was what you meant, only that was what you said.

However, I am not convinced that you did not intentionally mislead.
