One of these days, you will have something of substance to add to the conversation. Today is not that day.
That is my opinion as an australian living through the era. I thought that was pretty clear, obviously on the internet if you are reffering to the position made by a study you would reference that study. If no study was referred too, its a pretty safe bet that the person( in this case me) never intended on referring to a study. But I am pretty sure, you are not THAT stupid and you knew that alreadyt whilst trying to make some sort of weak point about opinion v study.
Good to see you don't live in absolutes, and its a pity your country can't have the conversation on a civil level due to the lack of trust. We appear to be in the same space re marriage equality. The inability to have a conversation on a topic due to lack of trust / extreme views / dishonesty is not a great place to be.
Obviously I agree with this. As a nation having an ineffective / lazy government is never going to help.
Why do we need a civil conversation with liars and cheats? The data clearly proves the gun banners are wrong, and their actions over the past 40 years prove they will lie and cheat at every opportunity. We don't need to talk to the banners, there is no point. Not every person is worthy of a platform.
I am not sure the purpose of this forum is to be a place for gun enthusiasts and gun enthusiasts only to discuss the appreciation and protection of gun rights. If so, the mod's and admin should make quite clear the above.
Why? Will it make more of you shoot each other in the name of safety? I think the age limit for owning a gun should be dropped to 16 and i think tourists should be allowed to be armed when visiting the USA. How can it be fair to allow americans to arm themselves but not the people who visit america?
And yet I hear the horror stories of an otherwise law abiding person who accidentally runs afoul of some gun law and gets the book thrown at them because there are no other charges to be plea dealt away.
Which are indeed true, and can easily be documented. Thus warranting the question of why firearm-related offenses are not pursued against those who are out with the intention of murdering someone, but rather those who are simply in the wrong place while armed in a manner that is otherwise legal elsewhere.
When in Rome. Perhaps at home we are safe and do not need guns, but in the USA, according to these boards one needs guns for safety. So shouldn't tourists safety be important? Tourist lives matter.
That's certainly the message I get from those that want additional regulations on guns. How am I wrong?
Numbers game mate and personal protection. Also, just becuase someone doesn't own a gun in their country doesn't make them anti gun. I don't own gun but if you want to own a machine gun in order to feel safe then more power to you sunshine! America is full of guns and you do rather like shooting each other....so, why shouldn't tourists be able to have the same protection?
I notice that you chose that to deny rather than the fact that you trump up the same debunked arguments over and over again.
I disagree wholeheartedly on just about everything you say. Let's start with your lead in statement here, why would the USA be any different than anywhere else in the world. Are you of a different species? Informed and educated has nothing to do with it as there is but a small percentage of people that are informed, just instructed. Education, there is no education in this world, just indoctrination. The internet, such a profound source of knowledge populated by a majority of indoctrinated idiots incapable of assimilating knowledge. While there are a lot of idiots that pretend to be that which they aren't. While it is within the rights of even the idiots to be either pro or con about anything, it is not within their rights to project that opinion upon another. In this small world, there are no differences except for the slavery of the people. Australia is a prime example of the problems of the world, a lean to the feminine, the lost of the masculine. You can describe your masters any way you desire, conservative, liberal, progressive, nazi, socialist, communist or whatever other label you want to use, it doesn't matter. It's all a matter of divide and conquer and in Australia, conquer they did. But it doesn't stop there, does it? No, you want the rest of the world to be like you, conquered. While America is not far off that pace, it still maintains some hope of freedom which the conquered wants to eliminate. But here is the rub, in the infamous words of Thomas Jefferson: These sentiments were also reflected by John Locke, "Second Treatise of Civil Government" and William Blackstone, Commentaries on the laws of England". So if we are all created equal, by what right do you have to place restriction on how any other wants to lead their lives. I nor you have no right to complain about your neighbor's tank so long as he doesn't drive or fire shells across your property. Or in the infamous words of:
