    Another fallacy.
Like the big black market for full autos that criminals don’t use on the streets. They’re much easier to make from exusting firearms then firearms from scratch and yet, we aren’t seeing them politferate in crimes.

That’s laughable. Instead of calling on logic which you define as your own version in every situation, why not be real and use probability, science and math. Real science and math makes you guys skittish and not only uncomfortable, but absent. Real logic uses math, probability and scientific research. The idea that gun rights people actually use real logic, is comical indeed.

The fallacy is yours. Criminals don't use full auto because they don't need full auto. Most crimes are done with fewer than 10 shots.

Interestingly though, the only "automatic weapon" crime was a bank robbery where they illegally modified their firearms to full automatic.

That you think your average street criminal has a use for a full auto firearm shows your lack of knowledge, not mine.

Yet there is no gun control law that passes your "scientific" approach. It always devolves into "you don't need that".

    Very scientific.

You don’t have a clue as to what the scientific aporoach ( method) looks like. You spend your entire “ guns at all costs “ life avoiding real science which is the sound basis for any law.

Thanks for getting emotional and proving my point.

You could have given me an example of where law and science worked in regards to guns, but I know why you didn't.

Another canard. A criminal is always in a battle for his life and freedom. Like a soldier in the army, having the option of full auto ( even in a pistol)
Is ALWAYS preferable. Again, you guys just make your own logic up. The reason they don’t use them is simple and beyound your willingness to use real logic. Just carrying them around makes them a target to be turned in for a reward and spend years jail without ever committing an overt crime beyound being in possession. Another “ non logical “ response. Full autos bring the federal govt to bear and short of leavin* the country, you’ve committed a federal offense carrying an unlicensed full auto.

I can give a response using FACTS and the science of law with every response. Cirreer Criminals are keenly aware of federal offenses and avoid them whenever possible.

    Yeah?

Then show me a gun law that is based on logic and science. There's only two that I know of.

Let's see if you can hit one accidentally.

    Wrong.

You're talking to a former Marine. I know that full auto is never preferable with the exception of a dedicated machine gun for certain tasks.

I know because I know how much ammo actually weighs. I know how much ammo it consumes, I know how fast it wears out your firearm, and I know how ineffective it really is.

This is exactly why we went from full auto M1's to 3 round burst M2's, and how even 3 round burst is almost never actually used.

Here's another example of you using "facts and science" I guess. Funny stuff.

Sure. Here is what the science of gun control looks like.
“The National Firearms Act, which prohibits owning an unregistered fully automatic weapon, sets the penalty as no more than ten years imprisonment or a fine of $250,000, or both.”
This is why full autos are not built and distributed by straw buyers and why criminals don’t carry them. It’s a federal offense you can spend ten years in jail just having one on your person. You want to do away with high cap 9 mm pistols ? It’s not rocket science, it’s real logic that has worked. .

Lying to yourself. You’re talking to a 10 veteran. 3 round
burst are still full auto. You can still get the “ full” affect. The AR15 variant would be used if your false nareativev right.
The three round burst is still considered a full auto. You were a marine , I guess you forgot that.

Oh I see. You think because the NFA calls for years in prison for possession of an automatic weapon, criminals have decided not to use them because they might go to jail.

Explain to us why 18 USC § 922(g) & (n) doesn't stop criminals from using non-automatic weapons in crimes.

Explain to us why "straw" purchasers continue to sell firearms to criminals, when the punishment is exactly the same as the NFA penalty for owning an automatic weapon.

Let's see your "facts and science" in action.

Sure. That's why they physically changed it from full auto to 3 round burst. Cause it's the same thing.

And no, 3 round burst is 3 round burst. Full auto is full auto.

The phrase to describe both that you're grasping for is called "select fire".

Firearms subject to the 1934 Act included shotguns and rifles having barrels less than 18 inches in length, certain firearms described as “any other weapons,” machineguns, and firearm mufflers and silencers.

Unfortunately, hacksaws aren't also controlled under NFA 1934. That must be why the Columbine shooters didn't buy tax stamps, but purchases legal shotguns and simply cut the barrels down. I guess the "ten years imprisonment or a fine of $250,000, or both" wasn't enough of a deterrent. Note that the two shooters killed more students with shotguns than with the semiautomatic weapons they also used.

It's considered full auto by the ATF. Not so much by the military.

    Because straw buyers aren’t punishable
You are not very aware are you. It’s still considered an automatic weapon and subject to the same fines as a full auto.

    Straw buyers aren't punishable?

This is going to be a gold mine.

What do you mean by "straw buyers aren't punishable"?

You can use either of those to emulate full auto fire.

Please continue to dazzle us with science and facts though.

Don’t be silly ( we were discussing auto, attic weapons. Straw buyers in general have one set of sentencing guidelines, another set is included for auto weapons. You’re really reaching now.

You claimed, using "science and facts", that the NFA penalty of 10 years/250k fine worked to stop the illegal sale of firearms.

If that is so, why doesn't the federal penalty of 10 years/250k fine stop people from doing straw sales of firearms?

    Let's see some science!
