So, IF the objective is to save lives, we need to limit ONE discussion to that end. Ignore the trolls and paid shills. How would you feel if one of those seventeen people killed in Florida were YOUR son or daughter? Don't you want to prevent this from happening? The cause must be addressed and firearms had no more to do with that carnage than the car is when people kill others in a DUI wreck. It's time to get to the root of the problem. The distraction is that instead of getting your heads out of your ass and having ONE CONVERSATION about prevention, we're going to allow one or two political propaganda prostitutes beat everybody down and have the same conversation you're getting in hundreds of threads on this forum and not a single one devoted to saving lives and preserving our culture? The tools and procedures were in place to stop Nickolas Cruz. So, why was it not done? Why are we not holding those responsible accountable? How come we aren't having investigations to find out why the FBI did not do its job? You paid them to do it. Had any of you been that negligent, you'd be facing criminal and civil prosecution. Were there no protocols in place to deal with this scenario? And so, rather than, to answer these questions and figure out how to prevent the carnage, you want to keep this dialogue up with insignificant peons that want to divert your attention so that nothing is done unless the left controls it?

Wait ... are you saying that this Adam character (presumably someone who shot a lot of people?) lived in a house in which guns were apparently readily available? His so-called-parents not only raised a fruitloop (which takes some dedication and effort .. they must be very special people), but were also gun huggers? And they were perfectly okay with that combination? Never occurred to them that that might not be a good mix? More importantly, what have they been charged with?
Cruz was recently taken in by a family that had no knowledge of Cruz's past behavior and judged him on their own observations. Cruz had no problem with putting his weapons in a locked safe. So, having been good at hiding his violent personality, the people who took Cruz in are no better or worse than all those people in his community who KNEW about him and did nothing except laugh it off. Had those students been as outspoken then about having someone they KNEW was dangerous in their midst, we would not be having this discussion and seventeen people would be alive today.

We have more people in prisons than any nation on this planet. So, you have two choices left: Either throw in the towel and give your country up to the socialist / communist / liberal combine that is obsessed with control OR LET'S TALK PREVENTATIVE MEASURES Let's talk about the prevalence of not only illegal drugs, but the legal ones that are prescribed (in some cases their use made mandatory) via the legal methods. Let's talk about the fact that we do not convey the dangers of certain people from government agency to government agency and follow a protocol in the same manner we do as - let us say, people who are racial extremists ( and while that one isn't perfect, it's pretty regulated and conveyed.) Let's talk about the lack of facilities to not only treat mental health patients, but that the mental health community has failed to provide the government with a proposed protocol by which they intend to use the money to identify and contain dangerous people without infringing on their constitutional guarantees.
My favorite preventative measures are the ones I mentioned. I don't know a single country that has instituted your measures alone and has low gun deaths. You just have no evidence
You don't know of a country that has instituted the preventative measures that I would suggest because you have figured a way to circumvent a full, fair and impartial discussion of them. You do that because you live in fear. IF someone came up with a complete plan to fix the issue, you'd reject it because you have one interest and one interest only. You won't talk preventative measures because it might just work. And the only thing you have to offer is what Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, etc. offered. You don't have the ability to discuss anything else. You're representing history's death dealers. You don't have any respect for your fellow man. And if you were in charge, the only view that you would allow is YOURS. That is why everybody here should thank God that we have a Second Amendment. If not for that people in love with an absolute dictatorship, with your exact mindset would rule this country. Your reading skills are lacking. No country has adopted my ideas because they are my ideas and worked on with the presupposition that we are a Republic. They would also require that they are slowly implemented so as to be able to track and measure their effectiveness. I once took a course in Total Quality Management when Dr. Deming was still alive. So, my ideas would be things that have not been tried (but universally agreed most need implementing) and measure each change (repealing it if proven ineffective) and moving on. Once you understand the principles of measuring the quantitative and qualitative value of a change, you get some idea of what is working and what don't. You keep doing the same old, same old, and you get the same old, same old
