    Oh well, I was wrong.

It came much quicker than I anticipated. Quite sad really.

And the funny thing is, his puerile attitude will ensure that he tries to get the last word.

    Just watch ...

    • Design is irrelevant since not all guns are "designed to kill" (such as guns designed for the purposes of target shooting). What is relevant is reality. In reality, solid food does indeed kill thousands of people.

You did not comprehend my prior posts. My [extremely sarcastic] crusade was banning (or putting in place "common-sense controls") over SOLID FOOD. I have no problem with a puree-only diet, inasmuch it is much more difficult to chock on a puree diet.

If that really were true, then what are 80+ million gun owners and their 250+ million guns doing wrong? I have personally fired thousands of rounds in my lifetime, and yet I have never killed anyone. Am I not using my gun for it's intended purpose that it was "designed" for? According to you I should have killed thousands of people by now.

Time changes things. Knives were initially desgined as hunting tools. Now, although some types of knives are still used as hunting tools, knives are mainly used in the setting of cooking/eating. Similarly, guns were initially designed as tools for warfare, but time have evolved the usage of these tools to include things like hunting, self-defense, and target shooting.

Not true: The many innocents who have used their guns for self-defense would be dead.

Childish name-calling is a very common attribute for folks that have no ability to carry an intelligent argument and for those that are debating with people who are WAY out of their league. Sadly, this is very common with left-wing idealogues.

Oh look, the anti-gun filth has resorted to personal attacks. What else is new?

Don't bother me a bit. I will stand up and fight for any man (woman) in need; even if I hate them. It is who the proud and law abiding gun owners of America are.

I would die for your rights to hide under a desk when the (*)(*)(*)(*) hits the fan.

    Why the obsession with guns?

Are you a hunter, target practise as a sport or just like holding a large peice of metal in your hands?

    Thinker,

UK here. And please dont give the "owning a gun is freedom argument."

I dont believe that for a moment after reading forums like this, many gun owners in usa are scared and want to defend themselves.

But i have been shooting, didnt really enjoy it. Which is why i cant see the fuss.

Depends if like Archer make use of that gun by hunting.

I see the point of that, seems reasonable.

Or target shooting as said but seems to me the other reasons for defence, it would be less stressfull to move to a better area with less troublesome people.

There are always people who would rather make money from crime, no matter where you go, and what if Archer doesnt have enough money to move out of the ghetto?

The small area I live in is not bad at all. I live at the end of the road next to ponds and farm land. I keep my weapons secured but I am also not fooling myself about many things. If my kids need medical attention and some (*)(*)(*)(*)ed fool OWS idiots are blocking the road and refuse to move they have taken their lives into their own hands.

I was using that as an example and it is not meant to attack OWS in this thread. Hell I would do the same no matter the group.

How much of this is to do with crime or the fear of crime. Also how realistic is owning a gun for the crime view when work in cities. banks offices etc.., Not realisic to carry a gun everywhere. under the suit wrapped around the tie. maybe

Is it that different? how many americaans for example carry a gun on the way to work?

on the subways the buses, dont only a few states have carry permits?

i say this, as a gun seems pointless if being attacked in a city while working and your gun is locked in the bedroom safe.

Gun law is settled law here in the US. Gun ownership is universal and ubiquitous in all states. We can argue over the original intention of the forefathers but it is still too late, the laws are there. If you wish to argue the reasoning behind owning guns, that is different. I am sure there is an actual small percentage that actually need them for protection or for work. Others hunt as sport and I can see that although I think bow hunting is more manly and sporting. The rest plan for a government revolution I guess. I don't have any guns although I live in a very ethnic area, I trust my neighbors and I am content with the size of my penis.
