I assume their rationale comports with the Monroe Doctrine, namely that the U.S. wants no foreign powers coming in & getting involved in the Americas. This story, so far, is very muddled, & peculiar (fishy sounding). If one wanted to stage a coup, in some nation in the Americas, Haiti would be one of the least stable governments to topple. (Though who knows, there is animus directed at Haitians by their neighbors on the island, the Dominican Republic, as well). There is a precedent, as we invaded their island, and took charge of Haiti from 1915 - 1934. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vi...republic-haitian-ethnic-cleansing-355962/amp/ https://foreignpolicy.com/2015/10/08/dominican-republic-haiti-trujillo-immigration-deportation/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vo...802587/dominican-republic-haitian-deportation
