. . . to call for fresh referendum on Brexit"

If she'd got on with it 2 bloody years ago, instead of spending them grovelling on hands and knees with the begging bowl to 'our partners' in the hope of propitiating them, we would have been out of Le Grande Projet a month after Article 50 was invoked, and none of this **** would be happening now. What an unmitigated farce - they can't even handle a straighforward referendum result. Career politicians - whaddya do?

She had the upper hand and she completely blew it. All she had to do was go to the US and say they want to strike a really juicy trade deal. Trump would have done that in a second if for nothing more than politically it makes him look good. These so called leaders that spend all their time compromising and talking and constantly pushing diplomacy instead of taking decisive action is getting ****ing annoying. Its the one thing I actually like about Trump is that he doesn't sit around for others to take action (with the exception of Obamacare repeal where he chickened out) he just does things for better for for worse its a refreshing change from the last eight years of "leading from behind".

...or not have had a general election and have her legs whipped out from under her....stupid bitch!! If she hadn't suffered from the hubris of office the situation would be different.

Its a referendum, you get enough signatures from people and then you get it on the ballot. That is how they work. In the coming years you are going to see how great of an idea leaving the EU really was. The Italian banks are collapsing and have had to be propped up twice now by the EU and they can't constantly keep doing that. The French "Frexit" movement is gaining popularity. Spain and Portugal are teetering on the brink back and forth so who knows whats going to happen with them.

She just happened to be in office at the time but this movement has been gaining traction for quite awhile now. The EU is an insufferable collection of "Lords and Ladies" running around dictating to every country what they can and can't do with their own land and borders. Its ridiculous. The EU literally has more power of sovereign countries than the US Federal government has over its own states.

That's my point...she wasn't...it was the Cameron that went for the referendum thinking it was a slam dunk win.... and lost...he took the major hump and resigned and May took over and then listened to her minions who thought it would be a brill idea to have a general election...and got thumped. So the conservatives went from having a mahoosive majority to being propped up by the DUP and having no real power to do what they wanted. Anyway we are where we are and screw the EU
