This is essentially the equivalent of having a White History month. You're already a majority, you don't need a pride day because every day is essentially Heterosexual pride day. People don't bully straight people in school for being straight, homosexuals aren't pushing for a religious right to discriminate against straight people, and no culture in the history of the world has ever tortured people for being straight. There's no such thing as straight conversion therapy, straight marriage isn't a political issue, and straight couples can kiss in public without people talking about them 'pushing their straightness in my face'. Straight people do not need a pride day, and it insults people that actually have to deal with problems incurred because of their sexuality that they think they do. 'White pride' groups include the likes of Stormfront, this is the sexual equivalent.
It is supposed to connote a happy person. A well adjusted lover of life. Given that, why did they keep whining for years and years? If they are actually gay, they would have rejoiced in the concept that to them, every man has something for them to eat in his jeans. And be pleased.
