Your mayor and governor's offices have people ready to arrest and prosecute for private gouging. You know who they are. We have reported four individuals.
Yes, you are correct. But anyone waiting for their government to tell them to be prepared, are already fooked. The upside of this whole covid thing is it is pushing people to be conservative whether they realize it or not. Having cash in hand, having a stock of food, water, medicine. Owning a firearm or several, having ammo to go along with them. These are all conservative ideals. Depend on yourself, don’t depend on government.
It's fun watching liberals trying to get through this. They really don't know how to do it on their own...
Centrists and libs are handling the crisis far, far better than the conservatives who are relying on guns and God.
I always thought that most preppers were over the top. but I did do what I called passive prepping for food. for years I would waltz down the can good aisle and pick up what ever was on sale and shove it in a cabinet. I probably had enough can goods to last a month if the SHTF but then my girlfriend moved in and saw that everything had expired years ago and threw it all out. So I will be smarter about it the second time around, I will buy some freeze dried food a few each month until I build up a months supply. We have learned that it might not take a war, or a super volcano, or a massive sun spot to wish we had all prepped, it just takes some rumors on social networking to put us all in a panic. There was zero reason to make a run on TP yet everyone did. I will also put together a go bag, just in case. I do have ammo, I won't stop buying that for sure.
Ok I just had to comment on this one. Tell us how centrists and libs are handling it? As far as guns and God, I could care less if God is looking over my shoulder if I am forced to point my gun at someone. I will invoke his name as I tell an intruder "back the F up out of my GD door" only once however. Maybe not even once actually.
When cons tell us why lib and centrists are not handling it well, then, Starfox, I will respond. I don't like any con take cheap hits. Or libs for that matter. I am quite capable of defending my own.
the people panicking are those that live 'day to day', and i don't mean because of finances, i'm talking about all those peeps that never buy more than that night's dinner when shopping. they are the one's making crazy raids on stores all over the nation and then complaning that shelves are empty... well folks, we live in a world that uses barcodes & demographics and set up the 'on demand supply line' system that all stores & manufacturers live by these days ( that is why you see 6 supermarkets in the same neighborhood ( they each get their 'quota' and no more, otherwise there would be tremendous waste of perishables )... it'll take time to catch up... so the next time your shopping and they don't have what you want, put the blame where it belongs, squarely on the system created by the very companies that sell & manufacture those goods...
Are eggs bigger in Texas? Just kidding. So, you'd buy yourself a couple of days extra life in this poor world. Do you think it's worth your dignity?
I think my Rhode Island Red and my Easter Egger lay the biggest eggs. The Easter Egger died recently and was my only green egg layer. Most of my eggs are large to XX large. My Wyandottes seem to lay a medium every once in a while. The Naked Neck Chickens don't lay quite as often, but the eggs are good size. The Cochin is dependable and average size eggs. We ate our rooster for attacking the lovely Mrs. Texan. Roosters aren't needed for eggs, they just fertilize them if you want chicks. We add what chicks we need every Spring. I have room for 12 birds. When young hens are laying their first eggs, you get some weird ones. Some are very very small. Some come out with no shell and they are just in an exposed yolk sac. Some come out with double yolks. It takes a month or two before they get the egg laying process down.
We must have different concepts of dignity. Mine includes surviving hardship today in the hopes that tomorrow will be easier. I would eat a hamster for the opportunity to find out, if all other options had been exhausted.
Yes, and they're dropping like flies. Unfortunately I know several by friendship, and am related to a couple.
I think it will do more than that. I think it will make all of those hubristic city types who live paycheck to paycheck, rethink everything they did wrong leading up to their now inevitable bankruptcy.
Not as much fun when you know them personally. But unfortunately it's too late to help now, with state borders closing etc (at least in my country). No one is going to send money, either. Everyone needs to protect their own, given so much uncertainty.
I sincerely hope that those of us who are right of center have misjudged the left as much as the left has misjudged us.
