Easy. We bring single payer which will bring down our prices and will slightly raise theirs

 

I have a hard time imagining a scenario in which subsidizing insurance companies, particularly for something that doesn't lend itself to easy cost benefit analysis like R & D, would ever be a good idea. Although i'm sure they would be happy to take any money that government foolishly tries to give them. And that goes double for pharmaceutical companies.It's possible that we may all have to accept a much lower level of drug research from pharmaceutical companies.
