Welcome from a POM living in the US. It seems that people of Europe and the US were for a long time young children and would do as their elders and betters told them (UK, we know what's best for you, EU, we know what's best for you, US, we know best for you). But children eventually become those horrible things, teenagers, and teenagers always question the establishment, but this time the teenagers had social media and unlimited information access and discovered that the establishment only had their own best interests (wallets) at heart, not those of the people. Then the teenagers got to vote, and told the establishment, no more. As for Trump and Clinton, to be honest one was bad the other one worse, so we voted for the one who might actually change things, perhaps not for the better but we just didn't want another 4 years of the same collection of muppets, that is, the same politicians with the hands of big business up their backs working the controls. <Rule 2> "You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life." Sir Winston Churchill
