This serves as one of my public service announcements. Though this happened to a veteran, it could happen to anybody. I am shocked nurses would operate this way. Was it due to them being black obese women and him being white? I pause before going there as in general we must trust nurses no matter the race. At the least we see a patient being ignored as he dies that morning.
I did not know of another thread on this same topic until moments ago. So if a mod wants to remove it, I do not mind.
Very sad and his caregivers failed him. the one component I do not understand is an 89 year old man should be DNR and it would be cruel to resuscitate and put a man that age on mechanical ventilation. He should have been receiving comfort care and supported.
