How someone appears does not automatically their genes. I had an Italian girlfriend that used a tanning salon and people thought she was Puerto Rican. Using appearance alone is a poor method.

 

Thinking you're Irish but being mostly Scottish is not the same as getting special privileges by saying you're NA but finding out you're not NA. I always thought I was Irish, too, but most of my DNA is Scottish. Absolutely no difference other than location, and it makes Outlander (the series) even more interesting. A better comparison would be like saying you're an Arab but finding out you're German.

I've never met a Native American that looked as white as Elizabeth Warren and I went to lots of time at powwows on Oklahoman reserves with the old Jail Administrator at a jail I used to go to, to repair broken inmate telephones when I was a technician.

I don’t disagree, but there is no evidence that she was not told this as a child and brought that belief into her adult life. If she was really trying to hide this and knew it was a lie — why would she publicly release the results of her DNA test? She didn’t have to.

 

You can essentially be trans-whatever, so long as it plays into some sort of progressive narrative.
