With liberals inviting, supporting, and rewarding 20 million plus illegal aliens in the US, is understandable our healthcare system is being crushed.

Since they don't pay for health care and bury hospital emergency rooms as primary care centers, those costs are carried over to those who do pay.

    Nice.

    Singapore:

    Income per capita: 90k
    Population: 6mm
Ethnic groups: 74% chinese, 13% malays, 9% indians, rest 4%
    Life exptenancy: 82 years
    illegal immigrants: Very few.

    USA:
    Income per capita: 60k
    Population: 327mm
Ethnic groups: white americans 60%, blacks 13%, latinos 18%, asian 5%, rest 4%
    Life expectancy: 79
    Illegal immigrants: 12-22 million

So let’s change to singapore system, but before we do, let’s level the playing field by:

    Kicking out millions of illegals
Kicking out many of the poor to get our Income per capita up
    Reduce population size
    Make population more homogenous

By the way, in singapore, they cane and imprison illegal immigrants, should we adopt this too?

I love these comparisons, same as when bernie compares us to norway, denmark and sweden.

Asinine STRAWMAN ignored for OBVIOUS reasons.

Big Pharma is NOT the ONLY medical provider.

Try reading my post again and you will see that I was talking about TREATMENTS which covers EVERYTHING from physical therapy to surgery. How do you imagine that they figured out how to use lasers for eye surgery? It began with using lasers to remove tattoos and then moved into cardiovascular surgery. There was NO CORPORATION that was promoting the use of lasers. Equally so with Stanford and Harvard pioneering MRI's and U Penn with CT scans. In fact a scientist at SUNY had to start his own company in order to come up with a commercial MRI since no other corporation was willing to take on the risk.

But thanks for establishing that subject matter knowledge is rare amongst the BLOTUS supporters.

Forgive me for giving more credence to an economist who has studied the issue and written a book than to a guy on an internet forum.

You seem incapable of reading my posts for meaning. You have now twice read into what I wrote a straw man to knock down. You seem to enjoy doing that.

So, you're backtracking from your assertion that universities are responsible for drug development independent of nasty corporations who just swoop in to grab the undeserved profits. Good idea.

Glad you mentioned laser eye surgery. That field finds its origins in the ophthalmology office of a Spanish 1%er. Oh, the horrors. Along the way, IBM Research Lab did some work ,,, and scrolling forward a Bell Labs scientist received 50% of the Nobel Prize for advances in laser eye surgery technology, the other half split between a college professor and his PhD student. Wonder how the latter was initiated, funded and supervised.

This is a good example of bad idea. So doctors who put all that hard study and lose those years of their youth doing so should have limits on their incomes?

What about when they get tired of working for nothing and go on strike?

So you think that 'for profit' institutions provide healthcare is a good way to keep costs down?

Of course not !!! I think doctors should go to college and sturdy their brains out for about 10 years, 'lose a lot of their youth doing so' and be paid same wage as ditch diggers or janitor's . sarcasm.

I've been watching on Netflix the excellent BBC series "Call the Midwife", based on the memoirs of a woman who was a midwife in the East End of London in the 1950s.

Though not intended, the series demonstrates how the National Health Service in Britain works. Free medical care for all, with conscientious men and women delivering it. There is a lesson to be learned, IMO.

Sure is, its called you get what you pay for. Lets see how that works for them now that most of the EU is on welfare.
And since we stopped keeping them up they will have to pay their own way.

American healthcare is the best in the world by far. I can't see how it is even open for discussion. What needs to improve is all the citizens access to it.

Oh no. We've fallen behind Paraguay and Mali? Disaster! Or is it just hyperbole?
