In California, you can register to vote when you get your driver's license.

Of course, you can get fake ID in the DMV parking lot.

Also, California has colluded with illegals by creating a statewide ID card that looks just like a driver's license.

Well I was talking about in Australia. Where are you talking about when you say "we?" It feels like you were talking from an Australian perspective, but I see your profile says you are in USA.

Our Constitution was meant to be flexible with the world and our evolving nature. Somethings are long overdue for an upgrade, but instead of giving those things the necessary face-lifts they just ignore them and write new laws over them (while keeping them in place) that grant immunities. What people are upset about with the electoral college is that they feel that the establishment of States is out-dated (i.e. that instead of 50 separate states we should erase those imaginary borders and just be one Federal State). I have made that argument myself, however, it is only an argument supported by Democrats. Being that you are not from here you might not understand why, so I'll explain it. All of the news networks and the entire entertainment industry is controlled by and housed in Democrat dominated areas (California and New York), and those two states have very large populations. Red States (Republicans) generally are more rural (less populated) but still important and need equal representation. So why are Republicans important if they are in smaller numbers and don't dominate the soap-box? Here's why, because they control our agriculture, our mining, our manufacturing, they support family values, religious morals, order. Democrats on the other hand are basically defined by chaos, care-free entertainment, embracing to anything and everything, YouTube is their god. But I walk between these two different worlds as an Independent because although being responsible is important enjoying life is also. Ever kid likes recess but playing all day doesn't put food on the table or keep a roof over one's head.

I'm not complaining about the electoral college, but I would oppose a popular vote change.

If we elected the president based upon popular vote, a president could win six or seven states and ignore the rest of America.

I don't know what you're asking, but let me put my views into the most simple language I can.

Any company can start up in the United States. That is not a problem. Then the American people invite foreign workers. The anti-immigrant lobby, for whatever, reason thinks they are the only ones that have the authority to invite people in as guests / guest workers.

Now, in order to come into the United States, you need to apply for a visa and the majority of the visas are calculated so as to result in citizenship at some point. Guest worker visas have numeric quotas. For instance the agricultural visas were expended by April of this year. Trump stepped in this time and raised that quota since many more jobs were available.

So, the anti-immigrant lobby expects people to come in "legally," (the law calls it properly) and we do not provide that mechanism whereby people can come in. The quota system forced into place by the extreme liberal Democrat, Ted Kennedy, was designed to fail. Those who have made a religion out of hating people they call "illegal aliens" demand that people come here "legally" and no such legal term applies in that context. The term is proper and the supposed reason was so that we could regulate the numbers of guest workers. We don't. It's like trying to use horse and buggy laws to regulate Interstate traffic.

At the end of the day, the "legal" term is little more than code for forced citizenship. And here, the people who make a religion out of hating so - called "illegal aliens" lose their damn minds. Without changing the immigration laws, most people must become citizens in order to be here. Between 1986 and 2001 we had seven amnesties that would lead to citizenship. FEWER that half of those eligible took advantage of that. They don't want to become citizens! Yet those who have made a religion out of hating the so - called "illegal aliens" persist. Well, IF those religionists had their way, it wouldn't be long before the foreign born would dominate at the polls and vote the religionists out of office, change the laws, and this entire subject would be moot.

By refusing to give states back their right to invite whomever they want, we've created this unconstitutional situation whereby some employers can hire foreign labor while others cannot. What happens when businessmen call the government on that guarantee of the equal protection of the laws? What is the point of having an Amendment to the Constitution if you can't make good on it?

Those who hate the foreigners locked themselves out of the job market; they are the ones who voted for the politicians that have assaulted our Liberties, gutted our Constitution and cause businesses to leave for China rather than be dictated to by National Socialists over the way they conduct their businesses. It is the people that hate the foreigners that gave us the pee test, blood test, hair sample, MVR check, credit check, criminal background check, driver's license, Socialist Surveillance Number - ooops... "Social Security Number," National ID / REAL ID Act - E-Verify, 24 / 7/ 365 surveillance, womb to the tomb monitoring, Constitution Free Zone, militarized police, armed drones, and a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT where jurisdictional lines no longer exist.

It is not the fault of foreigners that American politicians and judges stuck their hands into the pockets of the American people to pay for a free education for the children of undocumented parents. The foreigners have nothing to do with our welfare policies. Even the 14th Amendment does not guarantee foreigners the right to benefits and privileges. Those are reserved for citizens. Yet we've allowed the politicians and judges to over-rule the Constitution and we blame the foreigners, deny employers their Rights as guaranteed under the law, gut our own Constitution, handicap our own citizens, waste TRILLIONS in tax dollars to prop up this POLICE STATE and then deny how stupid it is. What you really need is for me to fix the problem for you. There IS a better way.

But what's wrong with the Republican leadership referring to the USA as a democracy? Isn't that what you are?

America is not a democracy. Article 4 Section 4 of the United States Constitution provides:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,..."

We have sorry scumbag Republicans who never mention the word Republic. All they believe in is mob rule (aka democracy.)

And WHY would a "corrupt election official" register non-citizens, risking SERIOUS jail time for doing so? And there are several good ways to verify citizenship, enough that more than one are used and they are cross-checked against each other, by different people in different offices, oh, but they coordinate with each other, right?

You people are simply beyond belief

[NO THEY DO NOT. NO LOBBYING GROUP MAKES THIS RIDICULOUS CLAIM.]

[WHAT LAW SAYS "PROPERLY ADMITTED"? PERHAPS YOU MEAN LAWFULLY ADMITTED, BUT THAT'S A REGULATION, NOT A LAW. https://www.uscis.gov/ilink/docView...2380/0-0-0-51326/0-0-0-52169/0-0-0-52297.html]

[SURE WE DO, JUST NOT IN THE NUMBERS THAT YOU PREFER. THAT'S CALLED TOUGH LUCK.]

[WELL, WE TRY. SORRY. IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT PEOPLE EVADE INSPECTION BY SNEAKING IN AT NIGHT. MOST OF THEM LOOK FOR JOBS AFTER THEY GET HERE.]

[WHICH TERM DO YOU CLAIM IS PROPER? YES, "ILLEGAL ALIEN" IS NOT A LEGAL TERM, BUT EVERYONE KNOWS THAT IT MEANS A PERSON WHO EITHER ENTERED WITHOUT INSPECTION OR OVERSTAYED THE TERM OF HIS ADMISSION.]

[LOL, TALK ABOUT "NO SUCH THING." NO ONE IS FORCED TO BECOME A CITIZEN EVEN UNDER YOUR WARPED LOGIC. YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT.]

[YOU'RE OVERSIMPLIFYING SEVERAL OF THE ACTS, AND YOU'RE WRONG ON THE REST. LITERALLY NONE OF THESE LAWS COMPEL CITIZENSHIP. PERHAPS YOU REFER TO LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENCE, BUT THAT ISN'T CITIZENSHIP. SO YOUR EXCLAMATION POINT IS WASTED EMOTION.]

[LORD HAVE MERCY ... TOO MANY PROBLEMS IN THAT PARAGRAPH TO TRY AND RESOLVE HERE.]

[WHAT BLOOD TEST? FOR DWI? THE POLICE IMPOSE THAT ON EVERYONE SUSPECTED OF DWI.]

[MOST OF THE ABOVE IS PURE POLITICAL OPNION, NOT FACT. BUT IT'S CLEAR YOU'VE NEVER VISITED A REAL "POLICE STATE," AS I HAVE.]

I was told that what you just did was a violation of the rules.

But, although you misrepresented my positions - even calling known facts, opinion, you've not been anywhere. We are rapidly becoming a POLICE STATE. That is a fact. If you have specific questions, do so without changing my post.

    >>>MOD EDIT Rule 8 Removed<<<

The above is my words. Here are some things I did NOT say:

    1) I never claimed that any lobbying group invites foreigners here. At the base of the Statue of Liberty these words are inscribed:

"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

That sure looks like an invitation to me. Then, when people come here, we willingly hire them, rent to them, buy from them, and otherwise do business with foreigners, regardless of immigration status. Adding insult to injury, Walmart was convicted of hiring subcontractors using using undocumented workers. Most of you still shop there willingly - if I were undocumented, that would sound mighty inviting. All of you have the power to boycott Walmart. The government cannot save you from you.

    2) One poster claims that I don't know what I'm talking about with regard to immigration. Sure... I spent six years working IN immigration law and an additional three decades as an activist and researcher on the subject. These are the facts:

    A) George Bush's Attorney General, Michael Mukasey ruled that deportation is a civil, not a criminal issue and denied undocumented immigrants a taxpayer paid attorney for improper entry violations

    B) Obama's Attorney General, Eric Holder, over-ruled Mukasey to the extent that, due to the seriousness of the charges, undocumented immigrants should be entitled to a taxpayer paid attorney. He did not over-rule the part that improper entry is a civil, not a criminal violation

    C) The United States Supreme Court ruled: "it is not a crime for a removable alien to remain in the United States."

    3) I want to add something to a previous paragraph from above:

It is the people that hate the foreigners that gave us the pee test, blood test, hair sample, MVR check, credit check, criminal background check, driver's license, firearms license, Socialist Surveillance Number - ooops... "Social Security Number," National ID / REAL ID Act (National ID Card) - E-Verify, 24 / 7/ 365 surveillance, womb to the tomb monitoring, Constitution Free Zone, militarized police, armed drones, and a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT where jurisdictional lines no longer exist.

The list of infringements keeps growing. Some of the above is DIRECTLY related to the enforcement of immigration laws while others are an indirect result of them. Either way, it is the atmosphere that the anti-immigrants are creating and the results, as stated, are predictable.

Oh stop, I didn't change anything. I put my comments in all caps and bold to distinguish them from yours. If this nonetheless violates the rules, I apologise.

Part of your post is opinion, which is fine, but it's hyperbolic. For example, it is not a "know fact" that "judges stick their hands in to the pockets of the American people to lay for a free education of children of illegal aliens."

I've been twice to communist China and twice to Spain when it was indeed a police state. And you really don't want to compare your immigration law credentials with mine.

So what? He was right. It's not a criminal issue because deportation is not incarceration.

No sir, that paragraph is not my words. Research and activist:

    1) Manned the border in 1977. So, I was a teen and didn't know what David Duke was all about. Tom Metzger recruited me at a John Birch Society meeting

    2) In the 1980s I did a lot of research which led to writing news articles and by the 1980s my hometown newspaper editor wrote that I was "the most quoted man in Georgia"

    3) I appeared in literally thousands of newspaper articles; was on numerous tv and radio shows. In the 1990s I was on an Athens, Georgia tv show called Meg in the Morning. That show broke their records for the number of viewers and I was asked to return the next day

    4) In 1987, along with Lt. Col. Gordon "Jack" Mohr and our county historian, I co - founded the oldest and most continuous citizen militia in Georgia and it is still operational. I had ghosted many articles for Mohr and was his research assistant for all his published articles on illegal immigration from 1983 - 1987

    5) I worked on legal teams and we had two cases that were won in the United States Supreme Court

    6) Worked in many think tanks prior to the major funding of CIS and FAIR, supplying John Tanton with a lot of his talking points

    7) Managed several political campaigns, the largest resulting in a win for the state senate.

I could keep going. So, what is your claim to fame?

There is NO requirement to verify citizenship, in fact many Courts have held that requiring such a thing is Unconstitutional. That boggles my mind, but it nonetheless remains a fact. Yes, an official that KNOWINGLY registers a non-citizen might be subject to sanction, but unless they personally know the person and their immigration status, there is no way for them to KNOWINGLY do so. Even questioning the status of someone who doesn't speak English is apparently racist.

Since many courts have held this, can you cite one of those decisions? thank you.

Oh, and please make sure that the decision refers to REGISTERING to vote, not voting itself. I can see how this might cause some confusion.

At least in FL Politifact registers the claim that Proof of Citizenship isn't required to vote as being Mostly False, but you should read the article and make up your own mind.

My contention is that not even George Soros has money enough to pay several millions of illegal immigrants enough to have them risk a Felony conviction so I agree with Politifact that a sworn statement should be enough for an individual citizen.

The only time I had to prove my citizenship was the first time I applied for a passport. Never for driver's license or registering to vote.

Neither have I, but that was back when the Scribe knew us all by name anyway.

Didn't you have to prove your identity at one or another of them, and wouldn't your citizenship by proven by one of them?

How do you prove that you're the person on the Birth Certificate anyway?

I used my driver's license, but non-citizens can get driver's licenses.

The last time I registered to vote I did it at a table outside the public library manned by an Obama supporter.

The same way 1.2 million people defrauded the IRS with fake and stolen Social Security numbers. In the USA we are famous for "dead people vote". How did a sealed ballot box say that Hillary Clinton had 300 votes in it but when it was opened it only had 50 ballots? It is very easy in America to be registered in two states to vote, and, they do. Trump is right when he claims voter fraud is rampart in America. Why do you think there is so much blow back against his Commission to investigate it. It's all the Democrats have left. How can sections of Philadelphia have 100% votes for Hillary and not even 1 for Trump? Beyond logic unless one party has control of the whole apparatus.
