I am glad to see SOMEONE is talking about this!

I find it really interesting that no one has gone to jail nor paid any real political price for what happened at Fannie and Freddie...and that the Republicans are allowing history to be rewritten to make it appear that this was some obscure, hard to understand calamity that just came out of no where. People were talking about the 'housing bubble' for years before it burst but nothing was done about it. We have Maxine Waters and Barney Frank on video laughing and poohpoohing the idea that anything was wrong...people should be in jail for what they did. Where IS Johnson and Franklin Raines now?

the entire world economy is suffering and for what? The Democrats to make money, redistribute wealth, and gain power.

the Recession is owned by the Democrats..they have run us off a cliff and now we have to wait on Conservatives to rescue us, to do the hard thing and say 'no' to the Democrats...they have run out of other people's money. They allowed the people at Fannie and Freddie to use up every bit of capital both monetarily and politically that they had with the majority of Americans to profit a few people. That's how Socialism ALWAYS works out...wealth isn't 'equalized' it is sucked up by the people in power. Poor people stay poor...at least under capitalism, they have a chance to get some of that money back.

Hopefully under republicanism we can get some of that power back.

*Note I said "Conservatives" not "Republicans" because there are way too many Republicans that were willing to take money and look the other way.

If we survive, it will be the Tea Party Conservatives that save us.

    Ah this old meme!

Democrats tried to regulate subprime and CDSs (the real problem), but conservatives blocked the regulations.

This is what happens when you elect conservative shills.

Then why aren't they doing it now? Why do they keep trying to prop up home prices and give loans to those who can't afford it??? Why do they keep lending money to fannie and freddie???

Subprime is hardly much of a problem now; nobody is refinancing. That's sort of the problem.

The rest of your post makes no sense.

Landru, the OP has presented a cogent argument based on hard facts and you simply flip it off as if he said nothing. Who are you shilling for?
