how many electoral votes would Obama need for it to offically be a landslide?

if the election were held today he'd have over 350 electoral votes.
And he has a real chance of beating Romney in Iowa, Virginia and N.Carolina as well.
And to be honest, I just cant see how in the world ROmney is getting any votes from the rednecks in the south...Georgia, Alabama, etc...

The Democrats may be able to Fraud Vote Steal the Election, taking particular advantage of the electoral vote system and swing states with weak election protections.

They won't have a majority of the Legitament vote or the good faith and cooperation of the American Middle class.

The Dems can steal office, but they'll never be able to govern.

Why do you think it is that so many Authoritarian Socialist States end up "Purging" a large portion of their own citizenry before the Party Elite get their heads cut off?

Mitt Romney electoral vote lead holds strong through both conventions
    September 8, 2012
    By: Dean Chambers
SEE MAP AND FULL STORY >> http://www.examiner.com/article/mit...te-lead-holds-strong-through-both-conventions

The Rasmussen Reports Daily Tracking Poll of the presidential race released today shows President Obama leading Mitt Romney 46 percent to 44 percent. That margin is within the poll's margin of error and therefore, the race by that result is statistically tied. It appears that Romney gained four percent after the Republican convention and Obama has gained two or three of that percent back after the Democratic National Convention this past week.

The state polls and race for electoral votes shows to be unchanged from the last GOP2112 analysis of the electoral vote race published here August 25, 2012. Not a single state has moved into a different category since then, and Romney maintains the electoral vote lead of 317 to 179 over Obama with 42 electoral votes from Pennsylvania, Minnesota, New Mexico and Oregon remaining in toss-up status. The map above shows which ways the states are leaning in this presidential race.

Here is information and analysis on some of the key swing states

President Obama's lead over Governor Romney shrinks from 7 points in August to 2 points in September, according to the latest Investor's Business Daily/Christian Science Monitor/TIPP Poll. Romney gains support from men, southern, rural, and Hispanic voters this month.

I would say it would take 323 or more electoral votes to be a electoral vote landslide. This is because there are 538 electoral votes. A landslide is 60% plus of the vote. 60% of 538 is 322.8. Electoral-vote.com and Real Clear Politics (map without tossups) both predict a result of 332-206 for Obama. I think it would be very unlikely for Romney to get less than 190 electoral votes (the 206 minus 15 for NC and 1 for the Omaha congressional district in NE). Obama could possibly lose because he has narrow leads in several states, but that isn't very likely, he would have to lose FL,OH, and VA plus 1 other state where he is ahead or 2 of 3 of those states plus at least 2 and probably 3 or 4 other states.

Scott Rasmussen rejects Chuck Todd’s ‘inaccurate’ interpretation of Fla. poll
    Published: 5:45 PM 09/14/2012
    By Jeff Poor
    >> VIDEO: http://dailycaller.com/2012/09/14/s...-todds-inaccurate-interpretation-of-fla-poll/

On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Friday, NBC White House correspondent and MSNBC “The Daily Rundown” host Chuck Todd more-or-less predicted that President Barack Obama would win Florida in November, citing the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll that gives Obama a five-point edge over Republican candidate Mitt Romney in that state.

Rasmussen Reports President Scott Rasmussen, however, said Todd’s projection was premature.

In an appearance on Laura Ingraham’s radio show Friday, Rasmussen said the state is hardly “off the map,” especially given the timing of the poll, which was immediately after the Democratic National Convention but before this week’s turmoil in the Middle East.

“There’s an accurate part and there’s an inaccurate part of the clip you just played,” he said. “If Mitt Romney loses Florida, it is over. He cannot win the presidency without Florida. He needs to win Ohio. Another very important state is Virginia. Those are keys and if any candidate loses all three of those, they’re going to lose.”

“It is inaccurate to say Florida is off the map,” he continued. “The problem the president has in Florida starts with his health care law. Seniors are more opposed to that law than anybody else. It is a state that is very close in polling and fundamentally is leaning a little bit Republican. Don’t know where it is going to go. It’s clearly a toss-up. And I would say that Ohio is a little bit tougher for Romney right now. The president has done an awful lot of advertising up there. They’ve really been driving the message the auto industry is helping the president a bit there.”

“If somebody tells you they know how this is going to turn out, they’re either lying to you or deluding themselves,” said Rasmussen. “It is too close to call. Both campaigns have weaknesses.”

I'd say anything over 347 would be a landslide. In 2008, Obama got 365. Due to redistricting, those same states now total 359. Obama won't get Indiana or the Nebraska district, so that's down to 347 as his realistic maximum. Anything over that means he did wildly better than anyone thought he could.

Time to compile the master list of "excuses for losing" that the conservatives are pre-positioning.

    1. Democratic vote fraud!
    2. Suppressing the military vote!
    3. Black Panther thugs!
    4. Liberal media!
    5. September/October surprise in the middle east!
    6. Welfare cases want more welfare!
    7. Rigged polls!

Conservatives, no need to shout out specific arguments any longer. Just yell "NUMBER FIVE!", and we'll all know what you meant. But if you have a new excuse you'd like to add, by all means tell us about it.

Thats not a landslide. A "landslide" means overwhelming support not a simple vote count. Even if obama wins by a large margin, his support is regional (NE, West coast) and not national. There will be no landslide for obama.

    This is a landslide:
Reagen, elected 1980, with 489 electoral votes out of 538, winning 44 states.
Reagen, re-elected in 1984 with 525 out of 538 electoral votes, winning 49 states.

I loved that man. He seemed like a father to me.

Obama seems like the slug I see getting arrested behind the liquor store.

Are you denying that voter fraud takes place? Only a pure imbecile would deny that voter fraud takes place.

Judge Andrew Napolitano stated: “There is a problem with voter fraud in this country. Voting is essentially managed by the states, not by the federal government, and some states, Indiana and Pennsylvania, have decided to address this and they’ve addressed it in a constitutional way...... ........Most people discover it’s not that difficult to prove who you are, whether you use a government-issued ID or something akin to it. It’s not that difficult to get it.”

Reagan seemed like your father? HOw well did you know Reagan? Did he lend you gas money as a teen and pick you up from little league practice? Did you sit down and talk to him about the mysteries of manhood?

I mean give me a frickin break. To say Reagan seemed like your father either means that you had a father who was MIA or you are simply dellusional.

Romney is going to get creamed in November. It will be the largest landslide since Reagan's '84 win. And here's the proof:

Why is it that religious fanatics don't understand the most basic scientific principles? Despite what your dbible does or does not say on the subject, you can not prove a negative, not now, not ever.

    Who is this napolitano?

Obama and his brand of "Transformation & Ethnic Revolution" will be rejected by America, In the End, when things are at their worst, Common Americans have always done and will always do what is GOOD and JUST!

I have Faith that they, common middle class Americans, will reject Authoritarian Statism and the Ethnic National Socialism that President Obama with his ludicris spending, Rev. Wright and the NBPP brought to a troubled America.

We have learned, once again, don't judge a Politician by his Paint-Job.
