When Adam sinned it affected nature. There's a verse in Genesis where it says that God cursed the ground after original sin. Original sin is also why people mistaken the void in their heart to seek God and make God a part of their life, with things that aren't godly.

Many of the ancient prophets are known to have been meat eaters. Equating vegan to righteousness is strange to me because plants feed off of everything that has died, some recent and some many generations past. Not to mention that plants are alive, likewise the trees that we also kill to mill lumber for everything from our roofs, walls and sidings, to pallets, cardboard boxes, and the mulch for our flower beds. Even our manmade products are produced by the destruction of habitat and living things, transported by vehicles that came to be by the same process, transported over roads, waters and thru the skies, all of which destroys wildlife in abundance. The most antiseptic vegan is a cold blooded ivory tower dwelling killer and murderer of life from bugs to bears. The reason there are no bears or deer or wolves or cougars in large cities is because they have all been killed and driven out.
