You seem to be confusing Trump with Obama.

Yes... and back when America really was "great", people WORKED for 'more money', instead of laying around on their worthless asses and waiting for the government (i.e., taxpayers) to give it to them....

Back when I was at the Univ. of Texas at Austin, I heard quite a number of fellow students say things like, "Hell, I don't know what to major in, but if I major in Education, I can always fall back on getting a teaching certificate." And a number of them did. Now they're retired after having careers where, no, they didn't get rich, but they made pretty good money (and frequent raises), had super vacations and lots of time-off, excellent benefits, and retirement packages that hardly anybody in the private sector can find anymore.

Today? Teachers have powerful unions, and they bitch endlessly for more and more money, and go on strike. They get it, too -- and that drives up property taxes, even on people who have never even had any kids in any public school. :buggered:

And maybe worst of all, the kids "graduate" from high school functionally illiterate! They can't do 4th-grade arithmetic, they can't balance a checkbook, they can't make change on a cash sale, and they don't even know what the main branches of government are, or anything about what's in the Constitution.

But, they've been taught plenty about 'global warming', 'social justice' inequality, etc., etc.

Yeah, that was the time before the demigod, reagan, entered the WH. Before hate mongering rw talk radio. reagan turned avarice into a virtue.
We had strong unions, good paying jobs, affordable health care, so forth and so on.:flagus:

If they have been doing all those bad things then how did we become the greatest nation in the world?

Nevermind, since trump took office we are more like a third world country.
