So you actually believe it's remotely legitimate? You wouldn't know a money laundering influence peddling scheme if it was written on stone tablets and fell from the sky in front of you.

So Zelensky is money laundering, or somebody is just using his name to money launder??

How is the money getting back to the person doing the purchasing?

Do you know how many transactions, at 500k a pop it would take to make this worth anybodys time??

Have you put this through any logical filter??

He will comply with the subpoena by either simply saying "I take the fifth" when he is interviewed and may have a legal basis for not providing the information to the committee if it is a type of nondisclosure agreement. A subpoena cannot violate one's rights or the law that is in conflict. This is generally the reason why a subpoena is for President's records, the President can use Executive Privilege as to not to comply. It will then be up to the courts if that is the case if there is a dispute on the use of executive privilege.

As I said in my post #105, what will probably happen is they will go to court to resolve the dispute, as that is the legal way. A little premature at this point to state he will be fined and/or sent to jail or even a criminal referral at this point. But citing "White House rules" may not be as lame as one may think since not enough details are provided. And that "White House Rules" is probably some form of nondisclosure agreement of some kind.

There were big differences between Bannon and the Art Dealer. For Bannon, he simply refused without giving an explanation at first. Then Trump tried to use executive privilege after the fact that he is no longer president. He was allowed his day in court and lost. he was charged with money laundering and fraud in the Mueller probe, but Trump pardoned him. Even then, AG Barr was going to try Steve Bannon for those crimes if Bannon was not pardoned. But with the subpoena in 2021, he simply said he will not comply and never stated a reason.

To prove money laundering, you will need to prove it. There is no evidence of that so far. That is the accusation and Rep. Comer is thinking that in his subpoena on that thinking. But this committee is going to be run like the old UnAmerican Activities Committee during the big red scare where it will be more innuendo than actual facts.

Hunter was ordered by the judge to appear in court today on child-support hearing.
Look what Daddy Joe's "smartest person I know" did last fall when it was already public knowledge that his paintings were bringing in big $$$.
Hunter had no problem (supposedly) paying for his own trip to Ireland with daddy.

'What to know about Monday’s Hunter Biden court hearing in Arkansas'

    snip:

Why is this bubbling up now?

"The case was reopened in September when Hunter Biden asked the judge to reduce his child support payments. He told the court that there had been “a substantial material change in (his) financial circumstances” since the 2020 settlement, alluding to a sizable drop in his income.

This gave Roberts an opportunity to reopen the “discovery” process and demand records about Hunter Biden’s finances. She requested information about his art sales, an inventory of his properties and cars, details about his travel habits, and records about his tax difficulties.

She is also seeking “information about monies paid to or by James Biden (the defendant’s uncle and the President’s brother) and President Joe Biden,” according to court filings. Hunter Biden has worked with his uncle James Biden on foreign business ventures, including in China.'

Throwing this in for shits & giggles.

'Hunter Biden pretending to be starving artist to avoid paying child support: baby mama'

    snip:

"First son Hunter Biden is roleplaying as a starving artist to duck his child support payments — when he’s actually “living lavishly” with access to $850-per-hour attorneys, according to a scathing court filing by the mother of his out-of-wedlock daughter.

Clinton Lancaster, an attorney for Lunden Roberts, ripped the 53-year-old Hunter in a 12-page discovery motion filed Thursday in Independence County, Ark., where the scandal-scarred first son has been ordered to appear next week to explain his request to reduce the support he provides Luden and their daughter, Navy Joan.

“Mr. Biden claims to be nothing more than a Yale educated attorney/artist who is somewhat financially destitute and needs his child support adjusted,” Lancaster wrote.

“However, for an artist living on meager means, Mr. Biden is living lavishly.”

“He travels the world on the safest and most comfortable airplane in existence — Air Force One,” the attorney added."

I certainly do know an influence peddling scheme when I see one.
I find it funny that the RWer's here want to focus on a "scheme" involving a private citizen but pointedly ignore the influence peddling scheme going on with a member of the Supreme Court.

Put them in jail in contempt until they provide the names. They have no privilege.

How about that Congress has no right to demand the names.

I agree that is smells badly, but I think that the art dealer is within his rights for a congressional inquiry.

Oh now Congressional subpoenas do not have to be complied with? They are investigating corruption by the President and his family in order to pass legislation concern such matters. But then I expect the judge in the child support payments will be demanding them and the amounts.

Why shouldn't we know, what about transparacy, what about money laundering and influence peddling?

Hunter's Baby Mama is not happy with $20,000 a MONTH since 2020. lol
He's not in arrears and wants it reduced.
Hunter made that $750,000 easily with his last 2 art shows/ paintings.
They deserve each other but sadly their daughter is the victim and known on the world stage for having a totally neglectful and disgraceful father and president grandfather.
A televised trial would be interesting, eh?
I think he'll try and settle now for more than $20,000 a month and try and make this all go away, it is a civil trial.
    Too much dirty-dirty-dirty laundry.
He was ****ing stupid to open this can of worms.

    snip:

"During the hearing, the judge ordered that Hunter must respond to written questions about his financial dealings, including investments, sales of his artwork, and other monetary transactions, CNN reported.

The judge also said Hunter will have to participate in a deposition in mid-June and answer questions under oath, according to the news outlet.

A trial to decide whether Hunter's child support payments can be decreased is slated to take place in July, CNN reported. "

Child support from wealthy men who had a fling with a younger woman who gave birth to his child, isn't really a stripper thing.

The art dealer should ignore the subpoena and take it to the courts to test if it's valid.

Lets see, Trump's inner circle from the time he declared he was running to the time he left office, how many people were convicted of crimes?

I think you meant to say TRUMP "crime family"
