I have seen someone one up you. I know of a guy who had to evacuate his River floodplain home and took his stupid little Chihuahuas with him but left an old Shepherd to drown on a leash. Then had the nerve to get pissy because someone would not drive him in their dump truck to his sister's house because the road was flooded and the dump truck was the only thing that could get through that he knew of. Then someone gave him a ride to a public shelter and he had the nerve to complain about it.... They should have left him tied on a rope right next to that dog
It's just something you have to deal with occasionally. Every area of the country is prone to its own natural disaster sometimes. Although I could do without another one for a good 10 years I think this one gave me PTSD
My friends telling me that we can make up to 10 grand a week right now whith a trailer and a chainsaw just cutting off and towing wood. Maybe if I wasn't already working 40 hours I would.
Is living in Martin County more dangerous than living in Los Angeles or even California? You have to wonder if the dangers of hurricanes are worse than some of the dangerous mudslides, forest fires and earthquakes?
We bought that house in Punta Gorda in 2017, with the plan to liquidate everything in NC and retire there. It was beautiful; right on the Peace River with a pool, and a dock in the back yard where we tied up our boat. Wonderful neighbors, quiet neighborhood, nothing to not like. But, every hurricane season, we were on pins and needles.
