I've been involved in the martial arts for 50 years. Started in my senior year in high school. First Wado Ki Karate. Did some Go Ju Karate and some Kensinichi Karate. I switched to a style Kung Fu after 5 years of Karate and never looked back. It's called Sil-Lum Ta'i Chi Kung Fu and no, it's not Ta'i Chi Chuan. I taught classes for a few years but then just decided I didn't have the time to do that anymore. But, I still work out even at 67. Back when I was 21 (1974), I was the first person in the U.S. (California) to get popped for making and selling star knives. It was a new law that had just been put in and we didn't know about it until my Master decided to mail an application for one to an assistant DA. I told him not to but too late. We got raided at our quoon. I only got a $50 fine and 6 months summary probation for it. I also paid for all the knives to be made and the head of the corporation took them and I never saw one again. Kim Kahana, actor and stuntman, was going to use the knife in the first movie "The Killer Elite." But, after the bust, he decided not to.
