When people have been excluded for hundreds of years BECAUSE OF THAT PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTIC, mentioning the first to break through is most definitely appropriate

I have no idea if you are a trump supporter. Hence why I asked you if you were just as upset at him talking about everything he's done.

Of course YOU don't think it's a big deal for a woman to become VP after 232 years. Ya think it might be for...oh I don't know...maybe WOMEN?

For some women, it may be. For others, not so much. It would depend on individual points of view.

I don't care what genitalia the VP has. As for qualifications of Harris, I haven't been able to find much. I equate her to whats-her-name in Alaska also chosen IMO for her genitalia.

Hence why it's pointed out. I couldn't give two craps about there being the first female VP....but I'm also not complaining that people DO give two craps.
Does it hurt you in any way or impact your life in any way for women to have their moment to celebrate the first female VP?

It "hurts" you and "impacts" your life by seeing it in the news? Are you serious? How sad for you.

Some people spend their free time looking to be offended.

Seeing other people celebrate a milestone is a weird thing to be offended by, though.

Would it not depend more on the policies espouses by that woman, and other qualifications. If the only thing matters to you is skin color or gender, you sir or madam as the case may be are part of the problem not part of the solution.

Who said only skin color matters? Nobody. Except white men for 240 years. You can't seriously claim that only white men are qualified for public office. Then why has there been only white men for 240 years?

That is not where but what you said / described about the perceptions of AA whether true and intended or not is one of the main reasons the Trumpocity got elected. He knew exactly which nerve to hit. Whites are afraid that Blacks and other minorities will take over. The initiative AA had quotas and so though the law does not tell us not to hire White men the result is the same. AA was supposed to level the playing field and in a way it did but White Men ended up,paying for what was done before but in all honesty itbextended into the early seventies.
That is not what my thread is about.

You don't think a former DA, AG and Senator isn't qualified to be a VP?

Where did I say the only thing that matters is skin color or gender? Please show me even one post where I stated such. I'll wait.

    Meanwhile....what I did say was...

Didn't say you did. For me the chief disqualifier Ms Harris is her willingness to do almost anything or anyone to get a little more power in her hands.

Well, 'first this' isn't as bad as everything, no matter how trivial, by Trump was 'Historic' when they weren't even historic.

At least Biden's 'first' is really the first.

I mean, look at the positive side, at least Biden, when he calls foreign leaders, (like Putin ) the administration provides a readout ( Trump didn't ) and daily press briefings that sound 'normal' instead of rude press secs.

At least Biden has rolled up his sleeves and as getting to work, no tweets, no golfing, he's a real president. noting that CLIMATE is priority number one ( and COVID )

so, let's not lose the perspective.

You just respond with absolutely no context or explanation. I realize this may be your last bastion of social interaction, but could you curb your zealous enthusiasm just enough to blurt out a coherent thought?

No, not hurts or impacts. Annoys is closer to it.
Reasons why I don't watch TV for the most part is the regurgitation of political claptrap.

To what did I respond? Clearly I think nominating almost solely on the basis of filling as many intersectional slots as possible is far worse than appoint donors.

That's too bad hearing about Harris being the first female VP annoys you that much. Do you have anyone you can talk to about this to help you with coping skills?

It's not suspect. It's the continuing debasement of our American society. The country that once found pride in meritocracy, no longer exalts meritocracy as a virtue but instead mocks it with virtue signaling. "Here's a token, there's a token. EVERYBODY gets a token."

I don't care how they look, who they pray to, what they believe so long as their record is clean. Meritocracy is talent, talent rules supreme. If you lack the talent for the position, you should never be given it. I want the most talented people in all positions. Not the 2nd, 3rd or 4th best. THE best.

Writing 37 EO's in 5 days is his job? Really? Did no other president know this?
