Thanks for your input, Dennis. Regarding Soul Sleep: These Biblical texts were enough to cause me to believe that when we die we do not soul sleep, but immediately go to be with the Lord. 2 Cor.5:6 "we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord" 2 Cor. 5:8 ""We . . . would . . . .prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." Philippians 1:21-23 I have a desire to "depart and be with Christ." ____________ By the way, as an aside: I believe that we will have temporary physical bodies when we are in the intermediate state, that is, while we wait for the resurrection. I mean for example let us say that John dies today and let us say that the resurrection is say 1,000.000 years hence. What will John do while he waits for his glorified body? My view: God will give John a temporary body to use, while he waits for his permanent glorified body that he will get at the resurrection. My view: A human soul without a body cannot interact with his surroundings. Can I prove any of that? No. Its speculation. Whadda ya think? Best JAG ``
