    Trump's got far less than half the people for him. His supporters are very vociferous and appear larger than they are.

    One reason the Senate supports him so is because many of them are in heavily gerrymandered districts with their seats fairly safe as long as they are the Party candidate. What these cowards fear most is the Primary Challenge. I think this may backfire in 2020 when even gerrymandering may not help some of them. Americans do not like toadies.

    We are also beginning to watch inflation creep back in as the tariffs have their baleful effect.

    Once Trump costs his followers money we will see his real popularity become known.

    Trump walked out of the last one without saying a word, why doesn't Trump reach out to them, he is the President after all, he is supposed to lead

    Trump's fragile ego will keep Trump from making any deals

    His approval rating among Republicans is about 90%. We have two viable parties. Independents tend to be split.

    After everything that has happened, 90% of Republicans still support him.

    Why should we try to force people who want such a president to live in our country? Why would I want to live in theirs? Let's just agree that we have irreconcilable differences and legalize secession.

    There are no solutions to the culture war. We don't want the same country. We don't share the same values. They revere a man who is by every definition I have ever known, an enemy of the country.

    I was told by a mentor, long ago, that you cannot presume to know what people care about.

    Having said that, I would say that each party cares about different things. Lefties are told that they only care about letting illegals come into the country so that they can vote. I don't know any lefty that has said this or believes this. We are also labelled as the party of Omar and AOC - but nearly all of (or maybe all of) the threads opened here about them are opened by repubs.
