If China doesn't agree to fair trade, what should Trump do?

Discussion in 'Economics & Trade' started by KJohnson, Aug 5, 2018.

?

Should Trump phase out dealing with China altogether and get those items elsewhere?

  1. Yes because we can't have them constantly stealing our intellectual property

  2. No it doesn't matter if they don't trade fairly and steal from us..we need them regardless

  3. I think Trump should wait Xi out no matter how long it takes

2019 would be worse if tariff continue, it just take few month for tariff effect to catch up. there are no winner in tariff only who lose more than the other

41 months of constant hate from Hollybrood, the MSM, and the never-Trumpers has not fazed him.

That they cannot faze him or have effect is one of the reasons they rabidly hate Trump so much.

Donald J. Trump will never resign.

Assuming he has the energy to resign before Nov 2020... If he makes it all the way through, he should donate his body to science (and by that i mean he'll charge science for it)...

Problem with that thought is the US will not only lose their world credit rating to the point of never getting a loan anywhere again, seriously tarnishing their reputation on the world stage, but given the fact democrats love socialism and open borders accepting everyone in and supporting them to garner votes, that debt would just keep rising so they'd be printing money that the US mint couldn't cover. At that point the dollar would become worthless. With no one willing to bail us out, the economy would crash and then welcome to Venezuela.

1.) We need to do as Trump said which is stop taking in freeloaders. Take only those who can carry their own weight that don't jump on programs.

2.) Need to make those already on programs WORK for those entitlements. Since he created enough jobs that there are now literally more jobs than workers, those on entitlements need to get off their ass, get away from the TV and go to work. People who can't claiming they have small children should have to take turns with others working different shifts to care for them. If we are to ever get the deficit down, we need everyone capable to carry their weight. Hell even disabled and handicapped are being retrained now to do their part.

The Democrats have adopted right wing economics for yonks. Where did you get the idea that they love socialism? Be specific! Also they haven't ever been about 'accepting everyone'. Perhaps they just have a more logical view about a nation of immigrants?

But the fact the empty storefront of Newsweek even bothered with the effort shows how empty the liberal media is.

most of the spending was by Republicans and Bush's two 10+ year wars, which cost us Trillions and are still costing us

republicans thought war spending would help the economy, the problem is, most war supply purchases are now outsourced too and what spills into our economy is often spent overseas

corps are moving jobs overseas and consumers are spending overseas.. that is the real issue - and if it continues will be the downfall is the United States as we know it - what is Trump gonna do to stop that trend?

Military Keynesianism still operates. Outsourcing cannot stop that. The real problem is that its always been less effective at demand management than civilian expenditures. You get less buzz for your buck.

Nazi bureaucrats can't manage demand without strangling economy like when 120 million died. Idea is to grow by encouraging creative supply side capitalism. Do you know how we got from the stone age to here? Was it by giving folks welfare to buy food or by encouraging Republicans to invent or supply farm equipment?

Did you notice Brit economy tanked immediately after War when it turned to socialism? 1+1=2

You try and outdo yourself everyday in the outrageous comment. Post WW2 Britain layed the platform for its golden era: from health care to welfare state. The long term gains were spectacular.

When US unemployment is 'supposedly' at it's lowest rates, in what possible way will China tariffs improve anything in the USA?

How many of the millions of products imported from China does anyone believe will ever again be manufactured in the US?

During the last decade the US economy has been steadily improving, the stock market steadily climbing, unemployment steadily falling, and inflation relatively in check...in what way does China tariffs change things for the better?

Lastly, who actually is going to bear the burden of increased consumer costs forced by tariffs and other political BS?
