Washington Post Poll Shows If The Election Were Held Today, Trump Would Still Beat Clinton

Donald Trump would still beat Hillary Clinton if the president election was held today, according to the results of the latest poll conducted by the Washington Post.

The outcome of the poll — which surveyed 1,004 adults nationwide — showed that only two percent of Trump supporters regret voting for him last November, while at least ninety-six percent still believe it was the right thing to do.

However, only 85 percent of Hillary Clinton supporters said they’d vote the same way. Two percent of the Clinton voters said they would instead cast their vote for Trump, while the rest said they would vote for a different candidate or abstain entirely. (RELATED: Only Two Percent Of People Regret Voting For Donald Trump)

That means that Trump would beat Clinton 43 percent to 40 percent in a hypothetical rematch.

''Tis does not look right. Us conservatives should be having buyer's remorse, and you Libs should be as strong and unified as ever, circling wagons around Hillary - and the opposite is happening. In fact, a lot of posts I'm seeing here on boards are from Liberals, pointing finger at Trump and his followers "See, We told you so!!!" Trump is losing his base!!!

Ne-a. It is you Liberals who are losing your base. Pleaaaase.... run Hillary again in 2022?

They will run Michelle Obama in 2020. Identity politics is about to get militant (more than it has been to date).

It's a real ****ing shame too, because we need an opposition party to keep the GOP honest. Back when it was JFK, Carter, etc you could very well disagree with them but at least they were a possibility, and as such Nixon and Reagan had to keep themselves in line.

Democracy doesn't work well in a defacto one party state, which is what the US has become after the Democrats got completely and utterly wiped off the face of the Earth in Nov.

It doesn't help one's post election polls when said person says She lost because Americans hate women.

That is nice but, Hillary is not running next time. Whomever does run - will be a much better and tougher candidate to beat than Hilly.

I think Elizabeth Warren is the heir apparent, but unless something goes catastrophically wrong with the Trump presidency, I don't think she can win.

Shhhhh! ... Don't tell them, but if they really wanted to win, Tulsi Gabbards would be a good candidate. She's intelligent, articulate, very classy, and very photogenic. A Democrat in the House from Hawaii. An Iraq War veteran, she's a Captain in the Hawaii NG.

It is not so much what Trump wants to do but, whether or not Congress will let him. I am very curious to see what his budget is going to look like.

Ugggg .. please do not wish the good people of the USA to be subjected to 2 years of non stop coverage of Liz Warren. That would be truly painful.

Gabbard !! The "Lets pass a law banning the arming funding of terrorist groups - such as what was/is being done in Syria" candidate.

I approve but - the neocons would have a fit !

She is also independent, a quality the Democratic establishment would hate. She has always been against our proxy war in Syria, and she has spoken out against it numerous times during the Obama presidency.

I'll tell you what ... She's probably more liberal than people I usually vote for, but this country could do a helluva lot worse. She is very intelligent and very sincere.

I could be wrong, but it appears to me that the Democratic machine is going to pick Warren. Fine, whatever. But I think Gabbards is a better person and a much better candidate.

It looks more and more that they're going to try and run E. Warren or C. Schumer. If you notice that they are putting them out there in the media more and more. Its the same thing they did with Obama.

It is too early on for me to speculate on who will be the next nominee. It would be interesting what the oddsmakers say at this point.

I do like gabbard although both Obama and Trump ran on an anti-war platform - and then did an abrupt 180 when in office.

Warren would be a worse case scenario for anyone not interested in having their every action, decision and thought controlled by an oppressive bureaucracy. She is the Central Planner in Chief.

Haven't heard of that candidate, I'll have to look em up.

Yes, that was my thought too.

I never did buy into the whole "the polls are rigged" thing. People were just making unreasonable assumptions based on them.

Doesn't change the fact that Trump FanBoys flip-flop on the accuracy of polls with the slightest breeze. Pathetic.

It's your own poll...the Washington Post. Keep trying to hide from it. Everyone knows that leftist media polls are ridiculously biased left by the Fake News Media...making this fact even more impressive.
