No need to control road networks, etc. A slight nudge on extensive supply chains for delivery systems will be enough, and not to cause the population to turn against the military but against each other.

 

What is the reason for the coup? for no other reason than some generals want to seize power for their own glory?
I would not worry about a 7 days in may scenario, as I think our armed forces are loyal to the nation and not to its generals. I think the great majority of navy, marines and soldiers would back the civilian government.

Now if the government (Both legislative and executive ) all entered into a UN agreement to unilaterally disarm and the military said no, then I would be on the civilian side. almost everything else I think the military are less corrupt than the civilian leaders as I think the civilians leaders would lead this country to ruin before the military would.
