If Trump burned everybody alive who didn't vote for him, would you then condemn him?

They believe a book where the geneologies show the earth is about 6000 years old today (4000 years from Adam to Jesus), so by ANY definition that's delusional!

I do have to say that as amoral a character as Trump may be. I do not think he would burn up his opposition. That is what a loyal Attorney General is supposed to do. .

It’s extremely different. The Romans had no printing presses, they couldn’t produce ballots, they could never have a widespread educated populace. Hell, they didn’t have the number zero. Without slavery, millions of people at the time would starve to death and you’d have no city dwelling middle class. It took nearly a thousand years for agricultural technology to improve to the point that slavery wasn’t necessary to keep people in cities from starving.

Monarchies and various stripes of dictatorship were a direct result of the technological and cultural conditions of the time and at the time they were the best form of government.

We have another person who is condemning Jesus for similar behavior - great! So if Jesus were alive today you and I would want Jesus imprisoned for Jesus' barbaric Hitler-like treatment of, among others unfairly tortured in hell, the Jews. Yes, the biggest anti-Semite of all time is.....Jesus.

Now you're just getting silly - you're trying to defend the 6000 year thing in the Bible. That's crazy, and clearly not what's best for humanity.

We both agree they should have the FREEDOM to believe any silly religion they want, even that crazy one about Moses. But faith has lead us to being in the longest war in US history, with no end in sight, so faith has worn out its welcome.

Yes they did. The majority of Americans at the time were literate, or at least could read to a basically level, sign their name, etc.

Romans would be hard pressed to make an X.

If you follow science then condemn Christians for being lousy parents for endorsing a book ("the best book ever!", no less) that is so stupid that it thinks the earth was only 4000 years old when Jesus was around.

maybe he's intelligent and mature, and therefore doesn't feel the need to to call people "lousy parents".

Well buddy, consider this well known political truism: People vote their pocketbooks. When they ask themselves in 2020 if they are better off than they were fours earlier, so many are going to say "Oh Hell Yes!" that Trump "fanaticism" as you call it will be rampant in the left and the dems as well as the conservatives.

Stock market rockets- and hasn't slowed down.
Companies handing out bonuses, giving raises, building new operations and hiring people.
Raises in most all employee paychecks coming in February.
Tax revenue that we have been losing to overseas HQ's for decades is coming back. Apple alone is bringing so much overseas profits back it will be paying $38 BILLION in taxes, plus opening a huge new facility and hiring 20,000 new people. That's just ONE company. Multiply that by hundreds or thousands and consider the economic ripples from that and it creates an economy that is unequaled in history.

    Fanaticism over thriving? yes.
Just imagine what would be possible if there weren't so many dorks standing in the way demanding more and equal mediocrity for everyone, and "somebody else' paying for it.
    That would indeed be mind-boggling.

I tend to require evidence of crimes before I prosecute them. If Jesus can prove to me that he's torturing dead people then we can talk.

All I said was that an omnipotent, omnibenevolent being need not act in such a way as to maximise happiness for his subjects. Maybe that's not the be all and end all of life.

Personally I tend to conjecture that if there's a God then life is heaven and hell all in one. Try to argue with a woman holding her first child after birth that it's not heaven. Try to argue with a 17 year old lad running into chlorine gas holding his severed leg in WWI that it's not hell. We create heaven and hell based on our actions.

If true, I think we're doing an okay job. Not perfect, but hey, we've avoided that whole nuclear war thing so far, that's a plus.

So you and Jesus are equally as uncaring about humanity, because Jesus was incredibly rude/uncaring to a woman who was desperately PLEADING to him for help with her child: "But Jesus gave her no reply, not even a word." Ah, ye olde silent treatment! His reason was because he was a racist/ethnicist - he said he had only come to help one particular race/ethnicity out of the many many on earth - the Israelites. Hitler, too, was only concerned about one race/ethnicity.

But you are better than Jesus and Hitler because you are not a racist/ethnicist, however - I admire you for that.
