If we are the only intelligent life in this universe we are going to have to try harder

The US has an ample food supply, energy supplies of several sorts, a powerful military, and no obvious routes to failure -

- except for a nuclear war, of course - with the only other big nuclear power - Russia.

So like a moth to the flame, we have to get our really big military alliance to encroach ever closer to Moscow...

 

I'm not sure what this has to do with life in the universe but the problem is China, not Russia.

 

I guess there is another way to fail, though not as catastrophically, and that is to print so much money the dollar suffers inflation.

And to give the newly printed money to people and corporations who don't need it.

And who will invest a good chunk of it in companies in other countries.

And there you run off the rails, China actually makes **** that works, they are a bigger nuclear threat than Russia. It must cross, observant, peoples minds that if Russia's nukes work, even, twice as good as their army ... how much of a threat is that? And NATO, has done nothing but support Ukraine fight the war that Russia started. (now you're up to speed)

Let me point out that as bad as inflation is now, we certainly wouldn't be suffering any inflation today because we would be in the throws of an even worse "recession" than the one Dubya and Cheney left office under.
