If We Were One Color?

Americans came from all different parts of Europe, yet they could always be spotted by the way they moved, their facial expressions, etc. The same with the British, but that was years ago, I'm not too sure it's that easy today. Also there are different expressions in the eyes between different cultures.

 

That's why they called the Scottish and the Irish and other people they conquered Barbarians.

 

I think we carry an instinct to be suspicious of people different from ourselves. The trait had survival value during most of our history when resources were scarce. Europeans, for example are all various shades of white and yet they have viciously murdered and enslaved each other as frequently as any other race.

 

The Romans also called unconquered people such as German tribes barbarians because they thought as Americans did with Native Americans that they were not civilized. It was a way of dehumanizing outsiders to make it easier to exploit them.

Our daughter is strawberry blond, and our 15 month grand daughter is a combination of blond and redhead with my blue eyes. My whiskers are blond, two shades of red and brown. Get rid of Gingers? We need more of them. Thanks for the laugh. I loved your comment.

 

I cannot be sure: Jews, overall the European ones, are not of a different color. I cannot distinct an "Italian Jew" from an "Italian something else", anyway racism has affected the history of European Jews in a deep and heavy way.

This to say that I suspect that even when there are no "races" around, extremists would find a way to invent racial differentiations ...

 

The word Africa didn't exist then.

 

Racists would find something else to hate over, the left would find something else to scream "won't someone please think of the children!?" at.

 

There is only one color. It's called Melanoma.
