Nonetheless, they were both self-identified Christian Armies. Oh, and why did Charlemagne behead all the Saxon leaders who had went back to their pagan gods? Abrahamic Faiths, (except for Jews) FIGHT an awful lot among themselves, and they don't even agree on that.

Don't worry, I don't think he reads most tweets but his own, and probably not even them. Going by all accounts it's doubtful he reads anything very well.

Most flaws conservatives see with the US have been made possible by the Supreme Court. The Articles of Confederation were extremely localist, and replaced with the US constitution in 1787, which supported a strong national government.

Since then constitutional change has overwhelmingly come in the form of Supreme Court rulings rather than amendments.

Take the commerce clause as interpreted by SCOTUS. Interpretation is the new amendment, and it usually benefits both Federal and executive power - things conservatives generally oppose.

No they weren't. There were Christian in Armies they raised contained Chrstians but did not identify specifically as Christian and both fought for almost entirely secular reasons. No so the contemporaneous armies of Islam at the time of Charlemagne. In fact to the extent it was Christian it was so to counter balance the continuing threat from Charlemagne's Islamic neighbors to the South.

By the way, you History sound a bit more drawn from the old Hollywood epic "El Cid" than reality. The movie painted the title character as a hero of the faith but history seems to paint him a rather more flexible character.
