They are TRYING to normalize it. Even with the all the normalizing that has gone on, the suicide rate numbers for transgenders has not budged even a single percentage point. Acceptance does not help those with mental illness..... medical/psychiatric intervention would seem to be only humane option.

This person's birth certificate reads female and they have competed female, but their testosterone levels demonstrate those of biological male.

UPDATE: And I just read that the Court of Arbitration's ruling has been over-turned. Caster will compete on June 30th as a female.

 

There are facts, and there are opinions. Have male chromosomes and a penis to back it up is a settled scientific fact. What goes on in someone's head is anyone's guess, not factual. My son has a neurological disorder and every shrink we take him to has a different opinion on what he's suffering from, how severe it is, and what the best course of action should be. They all have different opinions which often clash. When he gets his asthma treated settled scientific facts are used to determine it's severity and treatment. Every doctor has treated him the same way.

With that said, I have no doubt whatsoever that you can go shrink shopping and find one who says it's normal for a boy to claim he's a girl.

There is a woman who has extra high testosterone levels who has won Olympic medals, who was forced to take drugs to get her testosterone below certain levels in order for HER to compete as her natural born woman status.
