Really? When did Congress pass the law that started chopping up native lands for private developers? There are most certainly people alive who have had lands stolen from them today.

 

Its so amazing how you justify what happening now with what happened in the past, but seem to condemn the exact same thing in the past when it was done by whites. I see where you are trying to go with this line of questioning, was it wrong for Europeans to do it in the past? No, cause that's how it worked everywhere on earth. Is it "wrong" to do it the same way today? Nope, but you will have many people who are willing to defend the conquered and they usually have a bigger might than those trying to take land. America, being the strongest in the world, is trying to set the example of the day by not "conquering" the lands they have invaded in the past 100 years. Mostly, the original owners of the land are still in charge. Iraqis still control Iraq. Germans still control Germany. Etc. IF America still lived by the old world ethics of conquering and controlling, America would have the entire world ruled by now.

There are other cultures and people trying to take land by force, and honestly I don't see why America should play by the new rules when there are people who are trying to live by the old rules. Its as stupid as the British trying to fight colonist in the old style of lining up in formations dressed in bright red uniforms while the colonists where using ambush and guerilla tactics.
