Those are undeniable facts. This is the Democrat economy thanks in part to Democrat voters.

For how long will Americans put up with this train wreck? Will they reward Democrats in November for harming the avg folk or, will they send them packing?

Anyway, and on-topic, as to the 7% referenced in the Linked Article:

1) The Headline is Absolute BS.

The Headline directly contradicts the 1st paragraph of the story.
The Headline claims "Highest rate in 40 Years".

When the story states:
in nearly four decades in December
....the fastest increase since June 1982

^Thus, the body of the article is correct:

NEARLY Four Decades. 39 Years and 6 Months (Dating to June '82) to be exact.

BUT--The Headline is BS.
(Because it mischaracterizes the time as "in 40 Years")

And, 39 Years and 6 Months is NOT "40 Years".
(And, if anyone has any doubts about that, ask anyone about to turn 40).
I wonder why Fox felt the need to LIE in the Headline?

Anyway:
All of this "inflation" seems like the logical consequence of a Worldwide Economy getting jump-started after a Pandemic.

And, it would be happening (anyway) regardless of who was the President.
^And, nobody can PROVE Different.

 

Some on the Left assure us that inflation is totally awesome.

Trump had this well in hand, Biden and the elected Dems destroyed 40 years of progress as soon as they had the power to.

 

So what is 7.0% inflation?

1. Every cash dollar you have laying around is now worth .93 cents.

2. The consumer is now paying $ 1.07 for every $ 1.00 of goods he bought last year. (Gas prices come too mind?)

3. Mortgage rates are going higher. Less affordable housing.

4. Labor will again try and put pressure on business for higher wages to cover the cost gasoline and essentials. More layoffs on the horizon.

5. More supply shortages of goods as those workers needed to deliver goods will demand higer starting wages. Materials will cost more and more as companies pass on the costs to consumers.

6. Rising interest rates make existing bonds worth less and less money into new bonds as long as rates are rising.

7. Build Back Better will not pass this year as Congress will not have the stomach to add more debt at higher interest rates. As existing bonds expire they will have to be reissued at a higher rate to cover our existing debt.

8. Very possible that the government will get into a credit crunch and be forced to raise taxes, not just on the rich, but on us all. Would not be surprised to see some programs cut.

9. Expect the States to raise taxes as the Feds will be unable to help them very much.

10. If things get to far out of hand and we have rationed gas and food expect expect riots in the streets.

Energy is one of the key elements that can screw your economy and cause inflation. The Biden Energy policy is absolute crap.

Failure to address supply chain issues creates inflation.

To be fair, part of this is still Trumps fault. Trump also wanted to give more free money. But this is fast becoming a problem democrats will bear solely. They keep On wanting to spend and spend. This will erase Trumps contribution pretty quickly. And I’m not so sure that republicans have the fix. This needs a bipartisan fix and that seems distant no matter who is in power.

I’ve never ever argued for a tax hike but it actually may be necessary. If you’re a liberal don’t rejoice in my comment. I don’t think the taxes need to raised on the rich. I think the driving factor in this inflation cycle is the lower class and middle class Americans. So if a tax hike happens it can’t exclude that class or it won’t curb inflation.

also the interest rates need to go up. If not the housing market will grow to exclude a very large portion of Americans. The average home owner age is already 56. That’s just 9 years before retirement. At the cost of housing now that age is bound to go up.

None of the fixes can be done in a partisan fashion because these are middle ground ideas needed.
