I'm a conservative Democrat, and a refugee from a different forum where extremist Liberals are ousting everyone who disagrees with them. I came here because another refugee from that board recently came here. I'm not sure if I'll stay here or not, but I'll look around a bit and see if I like it.
Welcome to the site. You belong in a zoo's endangered species collection--a living, breathing blue dog democrat. I thought Newt and Nancy had combined forces to eradicate your people from the face of the earth, but I guess they missed one.
Welcome aboard. I'm assuming you came from Debate Politics. In which case, I'm glad you've left there!
WELCOME ABOARD DINO !!! I was a conservative Democrat or a DINO ( of the Scoop Jackson wing of the party) before I got cured and a few years ago I finally registered the way I have usually been voting and became a Republican. Of course I am considered a RINO now with a lot of people because I have a bad habit of telling the truth and am not an ideological dog. I also came from another forum but the place I was at got run over by RW extremists and were pushing anyone who showed the ability to think for themselves out. FORUMs change over time. Sometimes for good, sometimes not.
When I left DEBATE POLITICS some years ago it was the RW extremists who were running around like barbarian vandals against ROME>
Well something drastically changed. - - - Updated - - - Now it's a bunch of loony lefties calling Hillary a savior.
Actually no. But some other refugees from my old board went there so I've set up accounts both here and there. I've never heard of either this place or DebatePolitics until recently. I'm not really shopping around. I ended up both here and at DebatePolitics, but that was a matter of following old friends rather than looking up boards on my own. And I guess I have to decide whether to return to my old board when my suspension expires in a month. It used to be an amazing spot, with highly intelligent people from across the political spectrum and around the world. But it has slowly degenerated, and I have to say suddenly it seems pretty bad. If anyone is at all curious, Toggle Almendro was the name of a nuclear weapons test in the early 1970s. It was where the US confirmed the design of the secondary on the W87 and W88. This is a revolutionary design where the fusion fuel is compressed enough for it to detonate (like a high explosive) instead of merely burning rapidly, dramatically increasing the yield of a warhead for a given size and weight. I'm not involved with nuclear weapons, just fascinated by them. I suppose my next step is to see if there are any "Hiroshima debate" threads here to dive into.
