I am sorry.. Typically people are sympathetic towards refugees until there are just too many of them and they overwhelm the existing culture..

I don't think Americans are really cognizant of the problems of massive refugee migration like Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine have experienced.

No he wasn't a CIA asset. He was always a rogue and a loose cannon.

This is about the Iranian people being outraged at their leaders. Try and focus.....I know you are in the Trump tunnelvision. But when another country's people are protesting. This means the Iranian people are upset and it has nothing to do with Trump.

Just an fyi there for you and your TDS. Maybe.....just maybe you can get those smart powers firing on all cylinders and not just one.....mkay.

Are you in a position to state that with absolute certainty? I ask because I have noticed that you seem to post your personal opinion as if they were actual fact, with no supporting evidence and no attemt to caveat.

I had heard about Gadaffi's links with MI6 over 20 years ago, from a well connected individual. I can't state it, is or was, true, but it had that air or rightness about it, I felt.

For example, Gadaffi's willingness to turn over two of his men for victimhood for the Pan Am 103 Lockerbie affair. A major British government cover-up if ever there were one.

    Then we have these:

If at first you don't succeed...

The neocon contingent in Washington really needs to be banished to the furtherest corner of the planet. And any and all forms of communication permanently disabled. They're such a bunch of sad, angry, vile old men they'll surely end up killing themselves with their zimmer frames inside two weeks.

    And a good riddance too.

20 some dead and 450 taken Prisoner. As usual and you knew it would be only a matter of time. The Eyeatoldyasos are already blaming their enemies for causing these protests.

Just like any good leftist.....quick to blame others for **** they say out of their own mouths and their own actions.

Yes, I am.. Esso Libya was monitoring all communicating coming in and out of the Palace in Tripoli because Gaddafi had hired anti American oil minister Abdullah Tariki and moved to throw out the Idris Constitution and get rid of Tobruk and Wheelus.

They were even monitoring the Israeli communications that were being bounced out of Tripoli as if they were originating in Libya.

If Gaddafi didn't do Lockerbie, he settled with the Brits.. just like the Saudis didn't make a stink when MI 6 got caught with their pants down over the "booze bombings" in Nov 2000.

I do think Trump should go there and overthrow the Government himself. How can he trust a lot of paid foreigners?

I thought they rather supported the resistance in those countries. You, the US, Israel and the Sauds, are the ones who agitate the region, since the end of WWII, as I suspect you know. Before you were there everything was (relatively) fine.

It's akin to a bad graft rejecting the whole host.

I think, to be fair, that it was probably entirely ballsed-up from the end of world War 1.

The King of KSA is the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.. That's Iran's problem. KSA has never agitated in the region.. They know you can't build country and its people up if you always have conflict... and they aren't like Israel. They don't get WW2 reparations or US foreign aid.

My father was in Tripoli to monitor what Gadaffi was doing vis a vis Esso Libya. We lived across the street from the US Embassy and on the same street as the Palace and the Russian embassy.

Tariki had been kicked out of KSA because he had an American wife and had come to despise Americans. He constantly agitated for premature nationalization of ARAMCO.

He got what he wanted from 27 year old Gaddafi.

I suppose that, if Trump keeps up his rant, the Iranian people may swing back behind their own government. 'Israel' putting its jackboot in should complete the process. Colonialist bullies should know when to shut up.

Agreed. I find the insistence by the US to try to present the moral high ground about Iranian "terrorists" to be yet another blatant case of hypocrisy and double standards that America has become famous for.

And the unwillingness or inability of many Americans to see through the propaganda - while ignoring the hypocrisy speaks volumes about the group-think that currently holds the US public in a vice-like grip.

When I talk about the "Sauds", I think of all these autocrats in the Arabic peninsula, not just the KSA government.

I assume from your non reply to my earlier question that Esso had no access to enciphered communications and that Qadaffi's MI6/CIA associations cannot have been known by them...

Having clarified that, your background in the ME is interesting. I imagine Esso were also trying to monitor American oil companies, like Connoco, and their continuing attempts to influence Gadaffi?

Margot is about the most knowledgeable North American on board regarding the ME's day-to-day politics and developments. Hers is deep, often obscure stuff rather than a superficial reflection of our often biased MSM. She's gone places.

Ah.....then this should get them a huffing and a puffing about Trump. Twiddly tweet, tweet tweet.

Trump to Iran: US Is Watching.....

President Trump on Tuesday tweeted about the uprisings taking place in Iran, saying the United States is watching.

“The people of Iran are finally acting against the brutal and corrupt Iranian regime. All of the money that President Obama so foolishly gave them went into terrorism and into their “pockets.” The people have little food, big inflation and no human rights,” he tweeted. “The U.S. is watching!” ....snip~
