If it was a failure you wouldn't be complaining about it I guess.

No, they didn't. Saudi Arabia did.

Of course they will get better. How could you possibly argue otherwise?

The Houthis have had no problem arming themselves, so clearly the blockade is a failure. The only thing it has accomplished is to starve millions of innocent people.

So, now you've gone from posting pictures of Iranian women in burqas to this.

    From your link:

An Iranian woman who removed her obligatory Islamic headscarf in a public protest has been sentenced to one year in prison but pardoned by the supreme leader, her lawyer said Sunday.

A court sentenced Vida Movahed in March after finding her guilty of encouraging public “corruption,” her lawyer, Payam Derefshan, told The Associated Press.

Iranian law requires women to dress conservatively and cover their hair in public. Those who violate the rules are usually sentenced to two months in prison or less and fined around $25.

Authorities have adopted a tougher approach toward the protests, which they say are part of a campaign orchestrated from abroad by opposition groups and social media networks.

    ••••••••••••••••••••••

So, not only was she pardoned, she was found guilty of encouraging public “corruption", not of the act of removing her headscarf.

I've defended Trump on many occasions, but only when he deserves to be defended. I neither hate nor love him but base my views purely on the substance of his policies. Whereas you are clearly a partisan who will defend Trump no matter what.

I defended him when he called the Iraq war a "big fat mistake".

I defended him when blamed the Bush administration for letting 9/11 happen on their watch.

I defended him when he accused the Saudis of being involved in 9/11.

I defended him when he said we should pursue better relations with Russia.

I defended him when he repealed the individual mandate and cut taxes.

I defended him when he became the first sitting president to agree to talks with the North Korean government.

I defended him when he said the US should leave Afghanistan and Syria.

And I defended him constantly all throughout the "Russian collusion" insanity.

In other words, I defend Trump when he deserves to be defended.

If you think the Saudi blockade is the worst atrocity of modern times you are sadly misinformed. That would be what happened in Sudan in the 1990s. General Omar El Bashir decided to
impose sharia law on the entire country, ignoring the fact that the southern part of Sudan was inhabited by Christians and animists. He unleashed waves of attacks on peaceful villages
and re-instituted slavery. In ten years over a million people were killed, and up to 250,000 enslaved. According to NEWSWEEK, May 3, 1999, "The victims are Blsack Christians and animists:
the slave traders who raid the southern villages are Muslim Arabs, whose racial and religious kin control the central government in Khartoum. Journalist and human-rights groups have
documented the resurgence of slavery in Sudan, but that has done nothing to reverse the trend." Or, the DAILY GAZETTE, Schenectady, NY, March 23, 1997, "Sudan is waging Jihad,
or holy war, against its Christian and non-Muslim populations. Government troops raze villages, massacring the men and selling the women and children into slavery."

Millions of Yemenis are starving to death and dying due to a lack of medicine. And that's only in the past four years.

According to Amnesty International, last year Iran imprisoned 7,000 demonstrators, killed 26 in the streets, and at least another 9 while they were in police custody. There were 507 "official"
executions in Iran in 2018. The most per capita of any country in the World. The USA, with four times the population executed 25. Iran is the most oppressive nation on earth, a brutal theocracy,
where women are legally considered to be worth half as much as a man. I am, however, against going to war with her.

Yes, Iran's government is oppressive. But that does not even remotely justify waging a war on Iran, otherwise the US would be at war with half the countries on the planet.

Woman arrested in Iran for removing headscarf.

typical leftist response: It's fine, she was pardoned. She was encouraging public corruption by removing it. Nothing to see here.

    Source?
The US isn't waging war on Iran. Nor is it likely too. Both sides are threatening each other, but threats are not fighting. The troops sent to the Middle East are just a gesture, their are far too few of them
to threaten Iran (which has an army of 400,000).

(CBC) 13M people at risk of starving to death in Yemen, UN warns

Just because it's unconventional doesn't mean it isn't a war.

    Quantify "likely".

At any rate, there is no question that the US is now more likely to wage war on Iran than it was when Obama was president. And that is simply unacceptable and will not be tolerated by the majority of American voters. Trump needs to be extremely careful not to let president Bolton start a war with Iran. The smart thing for Trump to do would be to fire Bolton immediately. But as Trump is not a very smart man, he will probably not heed that very sound advice.

Iran is powerless against the full might of the US military and everyone knows it. Iran is only a "threat" to the US in an imaginary sense. Iran has no desire to fight a war with the US. They simply refuse to forfeit their independence to the US empire, and for that, they are being punished with sanctions and clandestine "regime change" operations.
