Obviously what they do in the army is what decides the risk they pose, you don't suppose Israel just wanted to kill any Iranian right?
If Iran kills a high level intel officer or our Nuke sci or some at that level I would consider it part of the war, I would be angry at my Gov for not protecting them but I wouldn't call Iran murderers for it, it war.
Now you ask why shouldn't it apply to any guy or women or young that ever served in the army regardless of what they do in life, for the blood debt I guess an eye for an eye works, but since they pose no as a Nuke scientist I'd call it murder.

I don't know who did it, I know Bibi had a very annoying arrogant message on the weekend that hinted he at least knew of it, and then again he also likes to boast with other's feathers...so who knows.
I don't think Iran doesn't try to target our high officers...I think its easier for them to activate Gaza or Lebanon on us - but to be honest they all been acting really nice for a while now, aside a few rockets from Gaza.

Saudi Arabi refuses to allow head of Mossad in due to Netanyhu boasting about meeting between him and Bin Salmon prior to the Iran killing.

Bin Salmon's position does not go with that of his father but more with this man

The day before he had denied that the meeting between Bin Salmon and Netanyhu had even taken place.

I am not sure if there is any truth in this. It is dated yesterday.

Saudi Arabia angry over news of secret meeting with Netanyahu | En24 World (en24news.com)

That would be the kings position. I did read about the leak of the secret meeting probably about the time I heard of the killilng in Middle East Eye or Monitor. They were puzzling over how a 'secret' meeting had stopped being a secret. They imagined that Bin Salmon must have told Netinyahu he could leak it. Possibly not or if he did big mistake.

Iran and Israel are not at war - both are sovereign states -and neither has declared war on the other.

As such - we are talking about an act of terrorism - committed by a Nation State - the idea that killing one nuclear scientist is going to affect Iran's Nuclear Program significantly simply does not pass the giggle test (not that you had this idea ) so this was a political act - by a Nation State - against a civilian of another nation State -

The question of the OP is vengeance - how do you think Iran should hit back ? What move should they make.

I only agree with you on "sovereign states"...
I'm not really objective on the hitting back thing as I'm Israeli but like I said I wouldn't blame them for hitting our spies, high level officers, anyone that they see as a serious threat to them like their guy was to us.

this is kind of how I see it -- its bad precedent - can't see such things serving any purpose other than to fan the flames further - and who knows why they are doing it - but lets us hope nations in general do not start acting this way.

They already kidnapped our officials (including civilians who were officers) in the past by proxies, we already killed their advisors , I don't think its really that much a difference , it could be for political reasons and it could really be for security.

Ohhhh .. a kidnapping .. that probably took place decades ago .. and your claim of proxies weak.

In any case - even given that - they did not Assassinate these people .. There is a difference - one you seem to be trying to push into the closet . which is unfortunate - what is the ratio these days in Israel between those that do and those that don't take your approach .. its near 50/50 is it not .. not that it is exactly that number but both sides are significant - Zionists - and those who are not - not that this means all those on this side are zionists -..but its kind of like Abortion and Republicans these days .. chances are you can guess correctly - but you will not always be correct.

Iran... or well... Iran get's accused of assassinating abroad as well. Never heard about a kidnapping.
    https://nltimes.nl/2019/01/08/iran-responsible-two-assassinations-netherlands-security-service-says

I guess Donald with Israel just had to give Biden a parting gift to solve. Iran already reacted by kicking out the independent people in Iran who were there to see if Iran was making a nuke or not, while Iran also made it the law to speed up the proces to get higher enriched uranium materials.

The more right wing America and Israel are pushing to get Iran away from making a nuke, the more they are pushing Iran towards getting a nuke. What a fail policy. The entire idea that Israel must live without any fear of being attacked and is allowed to do whatever to accomplish that, is utterly ridiculous of that ethnic cleansing nation. It's like preemptively nuking the US in the stone age because the USSR must live without fear of being attacked. Makes sense. Loss of life is not important.

Who did they assassinate .. and why .. it makes a difference - context matters. Were these folks "Iranian Descent" perhaps ?

Was this a top NL official ? - I think not .. was it folks involved in spycraft perhaps ?

There are orders of magnitude of difference between the above and taking out a top State Official -directly - such as the Iranian Nuclear Scientist in Question.

How many assassinations have we been involved in over the years - too many to count - and these are the ones we know of -.. big case of log out of own eye prior - if ya know what I mean ... real Biblical now - Golden Rule stuff going on here. ... but this is what has been argued in essense.

We established that this had nothing to do with Iran getting a nuke - assassinating one Scientist will not prevent this. This was a political statement .. continue and we will perhaps go further ?? ... speculating here ..

but regardless - this Political statement was done in a way that is overwhelmingly/universally frowned upon - "We don't Do these things among civilized nations" - Lest we be wanting war...

People seem not to understand the capabilities of semi advanced Nation states to do really nasty things - biological - chemical .. the ways of killing folks are too many to count. - we don't want to go down this path .. introduce something into the water .. Nukes are not the only way to skin a cat .. especially if you are in close proximity .. "Drone distance" .. thousands of them .. which you can not stop -.. and do not know are coming until the last moment .. delivering God knows what .. and different kinds of god knows what.. - and Israel is not the largest geographical area. to cover.

Targeting a few statesmen ? that is nothing for a nation state like Iran. .. curious how Iran is going to retaliate - tit for tat at the most I would guess -

I really don't understand this move at the end of the day - but it is nasty precedent any way you slice it or dice it - fair game has a new definition.

These were people who are part of an armed struggle against the Iranian government.
Subsequently the west gives them a save harbor, where Iran still finds them and executes those terrorists.

Nope. It's just all about picking sides first and only than justify why a person should be executed in the streets like a bug.
That Iranian the right wing America/Israel executed did nothing wrong. Iran has no nuke. And he lost no court case.
Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law... except when you're a foreign brown Muslim.

So we can drop the ol' Israel is the frontier between the democratic west and the eastern undemocratic barbarians, since the predominant white Judean Christian west got no problem in executing people without a trial when they are foreign brown Muslims when it's done for their political ideology.

Ah yeah... people had a vote in that "corrupt" UN again? Or is that part of the running hoax of "the UN is out to only get the Jews"? Take your pic.

Last time I checked... only the advanced nation states do the really nasty nuking, biological and chemical warfare. Iraq was only to rage it's WMD war against Iran, because the US was helping them out with resources, the technology and the military information. Rumsfeld made sure of that, personally and shook Saddams hand while the Kurds were being gassed.

They gave the US a warning before they bombarded their military bases, killing 2 and sending well over a 100 to the hospital with brain damage. And there was nothing the US was able to do to prevent that. And we all know, Iran didn't had to pass a warning and it would have been a total massacre if they did not. They already reacted by ramping up high % of uranium and kicking out the international nuclear inspectors who were there to see if Iran wasn't making a nuke.

What is this 'ethnic cleansing nation' business? There are 75% Jews,
20% Arabs and 5% minorities in Israel. That seems fairly average for
    a nation.
Germany is 80% German and 20% ethnic.
Japan is 98% Japanese and 2% ethnic.

As for Jews as a race - they are the most ethnically cleansed people on earth,
having been driven out of over 100 countries. In my parent's lifetime they saw
over 500,000 of them driven out of the Middle East. No-one talks about that.
In my grandparent's day about 6,000,000 were murdered, industrial scale.

Interesting. At the time of the UN vote there was almost as many Arabs in what was to become the 'Jewish' State as there were Jews. What happened to them? Of course shortly after Israel took half of what was to have been the Arab state where Arabs were far larger in number than Jews. What happened to them?

There were 630K jews and 1.3 million Arabs in Israel in 1946
There were only 1.6K Arabs in 1947.... that part of the ethnic cleansing business.
Do note.. I'm using an Jewish source. The truth is probably much worse.
    https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.or...h-population-of-israel-palestine-1517-present

You know... the part that Israel shows to be an apartheid state.
The right of return only applies to Jews there, not any other ethnicity.

The most ethnically cleansed group? That's not based on anything. And they weren't driven out of the ME. That's what the Jews call being a Zionist... the movement to establish a Jewish state. And during your grandparents day 20 million Chines civilians got executed, and no Jew or white person ever cared that it dwarfs the holocaust of the Jews. They couldn't stand there are people who suffered more, not to mention +3x more.

Of course it is about picking sides -- but that does not change the fact that there is a huge difference between the Iran assassination and the Israeli one.

The point was that advanced nations can easily go around assassinating people - not that Rotten Ronnie was aiding and supporting Sadamski while gassing the Kurds and Iranian people.

Interesting was the reaction against the US assassination - wonder what the response to Israel's actions will be.

The Iranian who got killed by Iran was sentenced to death. Nobody doubts he placed a bomb killing something like 70 people. That Iranian the Americans/Israeli's got killed never received any sentence and never killed anybody. So yeah, huge difference... where America/Israel look like thugs.

Pfff. You don't want to be in the shoes of any Iranian who committed a violent act against Iran.
There is no such thing as being able to have a normal life in a safe harbor / western nation under a different name.

I told you what they already did. And it's not as if no Israeli had a knife sticking out of their necks. Dime a dozen examples.

Easy - the nascent state of Arab Palestine declared it WOULD NOT STAY ONE DAY IN OCCUPIED
    AREAS UNTIL ALL JEWS LEFT.
There were other factors involved like in all wars, such as refugees from the fighting, random acts of
violence by Jewish paramilitaries and Arab militias, calls by the Mufti to evacuate, terror stories spread
by Arabs etc.. There were widespread appeals by the forming Jewish govt for Arabs to stay.
But many Arabs did chose to stay. These same Arabs declared this year they don't want to be under
the West Bank administration in Ramallah.

True, and there's a few tens of millions of Russians who died under Lenin, Stalin and Hitler.
    But two points:
1 - Russians and Chinese haven't been driven from country to country for two thousand years.
2 - Six million European Jews was a large percentage of the entire Jewish race.
