    So, just saying, but when democrats exerted this power, democrats surely thought it was a good thing. Now? not so much. Funny how that works...

    I would point out that there isn't really such a thing as complete control. We may see times when parties are under performing, but we don't usually ever see a complete shut out from government. (Democratic efforts to repopulate the judiciary aside).

    I think everyone does have a voice in electing the representatives to government. That doesn't mean that I think every person needs their own personal voice. That would simply be chaos. For folks who need that, get into government itself. Be the voice for the people.

    As a hard core liberal democrat, I would say that no, it is not a good thing for democrats to be in control of everything.

    And I would furthermore point to the ( informal of course ) poll results. So far ONLY Republicans think that it is a good thing.
